It’s been a couple of weeks since we attended Highways UK at the NEC, and it gave us a fantastic opportunity to connect and showcase our intelligent design and asset strategy software. 💻 Just as importantly, it allowed us to learn, engage, and discuss the future of infrastructure, diving deep into the sector’s challenges and opportunities. Here are our key takeaways from the two days we spent exhibiting👇 What are your thoughts? Which of these takeaways resonates most with you and what do you think is key to the future of infrastructure? #HighwaysUK #TTROManagement #HighwaysTechnology #InnovationInInfrastructure #AssetManagement #MaintenanceManagemet

A project KL Systems implemented for Portsmouth City Council has been referenced as one of the Case Studies in a recently published report for the Integrated Network Management Digital Twin, Economic Benefits Analysis study delivered by ARUP for the DfT. See the link below. https://lnkd.in/emEZeTMm The Portsmouth City Council work integrated real-time location updates for Portsmouth to IOW ferries from AIS (the Automatic Identification System for ships) into a digital model. Then it used geofencing to monitor the number of ferry crossings in order to generate alerts when services are disrupted by comparing actual crossings against the number of crossings timetabled. The alerts provide Portsmouth city council with an early warning of potential traffic disruption in Portsmouth caused by ferry services cancelled or delayed. The system has now been extended to monitor Southampton to IOW ferries as well to give an early warning for the potential knock-on effects to road traffic in Portsmouth when the Southampton route to the IOW is disrupted. The digital model is currently being extended to monitor buses and trains in Portsmouth to support similar applications.

Great initiative on Wednesday by the Minister for Infrastructure and Housing who invited 18 stakeholders in the area of road and railway infrastructure maintenance for our view on how to digitalize and make maintenance more efficient. One of the good examples that was highlighted by Trafikverket (the Swedish Road Authority) was the two projects "Digital Vinter" and "Uppkopplad Vägytemätning" that already is transforming the way Sweden utilizes fleet data to improve performance. And yes - NIRA is the supplier to Trafikverket in those two projects with our insights on friction for winter maintenance and road damages due to seasonal variation for the general maintenance!

You’ve told us that improving safety and reducing crashes is one of the top priorities. The Regional Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Investment would invest $800 million to create better connectivity and improve safety for nonmotorized transportation users. The plan would also invest $200 million into targeted projects and initiatives that improve safety across the transportation system for all users to provide safe and efficient travel. Learn what’s in the plan that would be funded by Prop 479: azmag.gov/Prop479
