On our accreditation days, facilitators come together to benchmark and showcase their learning - independent and peer work, within the process that we provide. Accreditation days, as well as providing a sense of competence and confidence for new and experienced facilitators, represent a positive way of learning, which also offers: - A positive experience of educational assessment, where the emphasis is on assessment FOR learning rather than assessment OF learning (such as an exam or a test). - A collaborative process where the applicant works in partnership with their peers, within the framework set by AoF. - The experience of really saying “I accredit myself” and “my peers and AoF accredit me”. For some participants this also serves to ‘undo’ some of the more negative experiences of alienating forms of education or training they may have previously experienced, creating a new story out of old scripts. - High quality, considered, insightful feedback, enabling facilitators to feel confident in their skills, including awareness of any blind spots. Participants continually report how well this process works for them, and we love the ‘end of term’ and ‘what’s next’ feelings that spring from good closure.

My professional journey has been an exciting and rewarding experience, evolving from imparting knowledge through trainings, to managing comprehensive training programs, and now combining both.
