Fluids & Dynamics Research Group - Poli-USP’s Post

Professor Bruno Carmo gave an interview to Pesquisa FAPESP magazine about research into reducing pollutant emissions from oil rig support vessels. The professor explains that, based on real data, mathematical-computational models of the power system of this type of vessel were developed. The models were then operated with the same parameters that real ships were operating with. They found that the results were the same and then used the models to optimize the use of the generators. This resulted in a reduction in both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Do you want to know more about the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI) research?
