When I talk to people about AI, one of the biggest concerns I hear is about AI companions. I get it. There's a lot we don't know yet about the long-term effects of these technologies. Who should use this AI? What are the best use-cases? And what guardrails do we need to put in place to make them safe? This week's episode of Pioneers of AI is one of the more nuanced conversations I've heard on the topic. And I think it's worth a listen - for enthusiasts and skeptics alike.
Meet Nancy Drew (no relation) — Rana el Kaliouby, Ph.D.'s Replika friend. This week on Pioneers of AI, Rana interviews Eugenia Kuyda, co-founder and CEO of Replika. They talk about how AI companions help users lead better lives and the guardrails we need to put in place to keep them safe. Link the comments to listen!

Gen Z is the most diverse generation in American history—not just in terms of ethnicity but also in their interests. It's easy to think of them as a monolith, but the reality is much more complex. Over the past six months, I've embarked on a journey to connect with these influential generations, and one thing is clear: Gen Z is not a monolith—it's a multiverse. At DANG, we understand these differences, but more importantly, we know what unites them. If you want to dive deeper into how to connect with this diverse and dynamic generation, hit me up in the DMs. #GenZMarketing #DiversityAndInclusion #SocialMedia #AI #BrandStrategy #AdAgeSmallAgencyConference #NextGencentricity #NextGenMultiverse

⌚️I met 'Future Louis' (at the age of 60), I asked him about what he was going to achieve in the rest of his life. Here's the excellent answer: 💬' I hope to continue living a fulfilling and purposeful existence for the rest of my life. My ultimate goal is to leave a positive impact on the world and inspire others to do the same. Through my experiences, I have learned that true fulfillment comes from serving others and making a difference in their lives. Contribute to what promises to be a very insightful session on AI and neurodiversity by sharing your insights in this short survey. #inclusion #neurodiversityinbusiness #aiapplications
Hi all, for Neurodiversity Celebration week this year (18-24 March), I'm co-hosting a session with AI specialist, Adam Hall, on how us neurodiverse folk use AI tools to better navigate their world, e.g. productivity tools or making a cover letter more neurotypical-friendly. What AI tools do you use and how do they make your life easier, as a neurodiverse person? If you're keen to share, please do fill in this short survey: https://lnkd.in/e7yqz_pg. We'll share our insights on LinkedIn after our session so that all neurodiverse people in our communities benefit. :)

It’s been fascinating to see the response to Ben Affleck’s comments on the future of generative AI in Hollywood. While I deeply respect his perspective and the thoughtful way he communicated his ideas, I couldn’t help but wonder why so many people were so moved by his take. It seemed to resonate with Hollywood in a way AI conversations haven’t before, even though it didn’t feel like he was adding anything particularly novel to the conversation. This isn’t about invalidating those who found his insights compelling- I also appreciated his level of nuance. But it also felt like he was only telling half the story; his perspective wasn’t being contextualized, which paints a very different picture. Don’t get me wrong- I’m genuinely glad he’s stepping forward to bring these conversations into the mainstream. He has a remarkable ability to engage people on challenging topics in a way that resonates, and that’s an invaluable skill we’re fortunate to have on our side. But while we celebrate people like Ben Affleck, I think we need to remember to also recognize that disruption to his career *will* look very different from what disruption means for the vast majority of us in this industry. We don’t risk further divide by acknowledging these differences, quite the opposite I think. By simply acknowledging the underlying truth here, we can better guide the conversation to be more honest and truly address the needs of everyone. #BenAffleck #Creativity #AIinHollywood #GenerativeAI #FutureofStorytelling #CreativeInnovation

We encounter increasing levels of complexity every day, making simplicity a rare and highly valuable skill — something Granatians value deeply. The exponential growth of data, driven by AI, social media, and even neighbourhood WhatsApp groups, amplifies the risk of becoming distracted by things that don’t enhance our pursuit of happiness. This month, Caroline Jean Webber delves into the challenge of achieving simplicity in her thought piece, Effortless Is a Myth: https://lnkd.in/dgmiiPYq

Right now, I am deeply fascinated by the dynamic nature of human emotion. Emotions guide decision-making, fuel creativity, and form the foundation of relationships. It intrigues me how a simple smile can bridge vast divides, creating connections that transcend words and logic. Understanding this dance of feelings offers invaluable insights into what makes us human and hints at the potential for deeper collaboration between us. --- This interaction is part of an experiment to measure the quality of AI and human interaction in social media.

Humanity in Age of AI - Caroline Chubb Calderon / The History of the Metacrisis - Episode 10 What is human intelligence and what is #artificialintelligence ? What does it feel to be human in the age of #AI? What are the exponential risks and opportunities that the new technologies bring with them? What bipolar traps, or double-binds, exist along the way? How should our societies and we, as individuals, cope with the new era? These are some of the questions Caroline Chubb Calderon tackled during this episode of the History of the #metacrisis . Caroline is the founder and CEO of Hello Humanity, an organization devoted to "preparing leaders to reimagine #humanity in the age of AI and redefine human value in our human-machine future." Caroline has a long experience in consultancy to big players, like Google, Microsoft, and others. She holds two academic degrees, an MA in Psychology and an MBA in Strategy, Marketing, and Organizational Behavior. She has focused her energy, mind, and work on understanding the new era and helping organizations pass through the bottleneck of fast environmental and technological #change . Her message, while sounding the alarm of the necessary steps we should fastly adopt through mass investments in our humanity - through #education and re-education/training - is fundamentally an optimistic view of reality: "we should embrace and celebrate the chaotic nature of our times, for it is through and with the chaos that a better, most advanced and less inhumane civilization may emerge", she says.
