We encounter increasing levels of complexity every day, making simplicity a rare and highly valuable skill — something Granatians value deeply. The exponential growth of data, driven by AI, social media, and even neighbourhood WhatsApp groups, amplifies the risk of becoming distracted by things that don’t enhance our pursuit of happiness. This month, Caroline Jean Webber delves into the challenge of achieving simplicity in her thought piece, Effortless Is a Myth: https://lnkd.in/dgmiiPYq

Michael Ventura, designer and empathy advocate, has an important message: AI can mimic, guess, and even charm us with its seemingly “human” responses, but it’s not crying with us anytime soon. In his interview, Ventura dissects empathy, revealing that real understanding comes not from algorithms but from awkward, fumbling encounters. The takeaway? While AI can set the scene, Ventura insists we humans must still show up to “feel” the final act. https://lnkd.in/ggvn3Wgu If you’re interested in learning more about what we at The Experientialists mean by "experientialism," the link in the comment is to a piece we authored that will guide you through its evolution from politely passive art to the modern, empathy-powered, agency-driven playground. Expect a deep dive into the core concepts of empathy and agency— that turns you from an observer into a crucial player. We’ll retrace the wild path of artistic movements that ditched spectator etiquette for hands-on interaction, making today’s art more of a duet than a monologue.

The most common question we get from users is, How to I make my videos look like me or my characters? So that was a natural topic for the first video in our new series, How It's Done in Hypernatural. This is a particularly timely question given the massive quagmire over human image generation quality that Google's model, Gemini, found itself in last week. I'd say we have a decidedly different philosophy when it comes to AI-assisted video generation. We want to make it as simple as possible for people to generate their own specific, personal, weird, realistic, fantastical vision, whatever--or whoever--that looks like. You can watch below, or check out the YouTube link in the comments below. #generativevideo #generativeai #generativeaitools #gemini #imagegeneration
