We are a research team from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and we’re inviting volunteers to take part in an exciting new study. 🔮 Come to ask a romantic relationship question and get fortune-telling results from our AI and human fortune-teller!✨ Our research delves into how people perceive and interpret fortune-telling advice on romantic relationships, generated either by AI (using a ChatGPT plug-in) or a human (using the traditional I-Ching method). What to Expect: - A short online survey where you’ll submit a relationship question (5 minutes). - A follow-up interview (50 minutes) either in Atlanta Midtown or online, where we’ll reveal the fortune-telling results! 🤯 Whoa! Stanford researchers just did something unreal: they created AI versions of 1,000+ real people after just 2-hour interviews! These AI "digital twins" can predict how the real people would respond to surveys and experiments with 85% accuracy—nearly matching human consistency when retaking tests weeks later. Our mission is to reduce inequality and increase equal opportunity through the proactive use of AI. Mayesha Tasnim will highlight some of our efforts on improving equal opportunity in the educational system through the use of smart algorithmic decision making! Digging for more detail about the Habermas Machine, Google Deepmind’s AI mediator, this article has a little more detail. It uses two different LLMs: a generative model, that generates proposed statements that reflect the varied views of group submissions, and a personalized reward model, which scores the proposed statements by how much it thinks each participant will agree with them. One person (human!) was selected to be a mediator, who also wrote a proposed statement. The AI mediator proposed statement was chosen 56% of the time over the human designated mediator: the AI statement was deemed a higher quality. I imagine one day, especially those cases where I get 500+ pages of submissions, sending it to something like the Habermas Machine, and getting a summary which also pulls areas of commonalities and likelihood of agreement to get me started—a big efficiency?!
