Earlier this year, my curiosity about Unity Effect 's Impact Garden Model led me to conversation and connection with Jannik Kaiser. I've found that the Impact Garden Model offers a more intuitive and grounded way of thinking about evaluation than your typical program logic model's boxes and arrows. With organizations in Hawai'i, I have found the regenerative ecosystem metaphor of the Model to be particularly resonant. I especially appreciate how the Model asks us to think expansively about what (and who) are resources and supporting conditions that feed and sustain the visible changes we seek. Curious to learn more? Check out the blog post or video linked below! (And thank you, Matteah Spencer Reppart, for supporting the introduction between Jannik and myself!)
Are you wondering how you can evaluate the impact of your actions as a team, organisation or network in a regenerative way? Let us introduce our Impact Garden model: https://lnkd.in/eyCejQRm The core idea of the Impact Garden is to understand and measure the conditions for systemic change, and to consider how to best contribute to it with one’s available resources. For this it draws on the metaphor of living systems and nature. Rather than counting apples, the model seeks to understand the soil and ecosystem in which the apple trees grow, and how additional resources might support their cycle of growing healthy and tasty fruits over a sustained period. Curious? In our latest blog article we dive deeper into the model and provide a downloadable handout for you to give the model a try. Follow this link to read the blog article and access the handout: https://lnkd.in/eMd-s2DW We will also host a free workshop on regenerative measurement and evaluation on 23rd July (4-5pm CEST), to which we invite you to join: https://lnkd.in/dV_v7Rvw. #Regeneration #Impact #Measurement #UnityEffect #Evaluation #Networks #TheoryOfChange

Loved the video, Joyce. The model is so aligned with Catalytic Thinking. Different language (and in some cases, the same language), same intention. Lovely!
