A big thank you to the wonderful volunteers from PwC Australia who joined us at the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) Sustainability Centre to help propagate native plants for our nursery. Leigh shared his expertise, guiding the group through propagation techniques. The day also included a tour of the centre, and the plants propagated will contribute to local restoration projects starting in early 2025. We truly appreciate your hard work and dedication! 🌱

Huge thanks to Brisbane Airport Corporation Airport Corporation for their amazing support! Funds collected through the Containers for Change QLD (COEX) for Change bins at Brisbane Domestic Airport were donated to B4C, raising over $35,000 this year! To celebrate, Brisbane Airport Corporation volunteers joined us to plant 180 native grasses, sedges, and trees at Metroplex Wetlands. We also had a special cheque presentation. These funds will support community and environmental projects, including large-scale revegetation and rehabilitation across Brisbane. Brisbane Airport Corporation’s contribution through the Containers for Change program continues to strengthen their longstanding support of B4C. Their amazing efforts have previously included: Funding riparian planting along Salvin Creek, Clean-up events at Gibson Island, Active participation in B4C’s Industrial Landcare events rejuvenating the riparian areas of Aquarium Passage, Supporting B4C’s Common Myna Reduction project in 2016 to protect local biodiversity We deeply appreciate Brisbane Airport Corporation’s ongoing support and eagerly anticipate furthering our collaborative efforts towards a more sustainable future! #BrisbaneAirportCorporation #B4C #CommunitySupport #EnvironmentalStewardship #Sustainability #Volunteering

Thanks to the great McIlwain team who have added to our Industrial Landcare project at Gibson Island. #industriallandcare #B4C #environment
Last Wednesday was World Environment Day, a time for us to promote awareness and take action to protect the environment. 🌏🌱 To align ourselves with this year’s World Environment Day theme: “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration”, some of our passionate environmental McIlwain staff hosted a tree planting initiative at Bulimba Creek Catchment. It was a fantastic morning spent planting over 120 native trees and shrubs, which will help to restore native vegetation, create habitats for birds and other wildlife, and enhance the valuable Bulimba Creek wildlife corridor. Moving forward, we will return annually to weed and monitor the progress of our trees and shrubs. 🌲 🌳 #generationrestoration #worldenvironmentday #treeplanting #mcilwain
