Maximizing Retail Experiences with Charger Types: -> L2 Chargers: Average Charging Time: 4-8 hours for a full charge. Ideal Retail Experience: Suitable for locations where drivers can spend a few hours, such as malls, gyms, and office complexes. This extended time allows for activities like shopping, dining, gamming, co-working and fitness sessions. -> DC Fast Chargers: Average Charging Time: 30 minutes to 1 hour for an 80% charge. Ideal Retail Experience: Perfect for quick-stop locations such as cafes, convenience stores, and entertainment zones. Shorter charging times align well with quick retail interactions, making it convenient for customers to grab a coffee, snack, laundry or quick workout. We saw the same phenomenon with bike lanes, bikeshare stations, transit stops and multimodal hubs. Reduce friction, collocate amenities, make it safe and inviting and guess what.... people stay there and spend $. We may at some point see people choosing to live near these EV hubs vs. the other way around, like Mount Vernon Washington TOD (launching soon). "This study is a wake-up call for businesses on the fence of setting up shop near a charging station. EVgo and General Motors announced that they are expanding upon their work together and taking charging to the next level by deploying 400 fast charging stalls at flagship destinations in major metropolitan areas across the U.S. With features such as 350kW fast chargers, ample lighting, canopies, pull-through stations and security cameras, the flagship stations are poised to set a new benchmark in the EV charging landscape, by addressing the growing demand for convenient, reliable and customer-centric charging solutions in the markets that need them most. Most flagship stations are expected to feature up to 20 stalls, ensuring that there are critical charging hubs to best serve the growing number of EV drivers on the road. Flagships will be deployed coast to coast, including in metropolitan areas in states such as Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York and Texas. UK • Vauxhall has teamed up with Tesco to offer a year’s free charging credit at Tesco stores with every new electric vehicle order. With 2,700 charge points across 619 stores nationwide, including rapid charging stations, this partnership promises greater convenience for EV drivers. Vauxhall's Managing Director, James Taylor, emphasizes their commitment to supporting electric vehicle adoption, while Tesco's Head of Retail Partnerships, Clare Gregorio, highlights the convenience for shoppers. This initiative is part of Vauxhall's Electric Streets of Britain program, aiming to address the lack of on-street charging infrastructure.
