How to get great mobile connectivity throughout your venue: A Guide from Boldyn Networks Great mobile connectivity is a key enabler for revenue growth and fan engagement but how can stadiums ensure great 4G/5G coverage everywhere fans expect? Boldyn Network’s guide to great mobile connectivity, explains how stadium owners and operators can achieve this and use connectivity to increase revenues and streamline operations. Venue owners and operators know first-hand how the world is becoming ever more mobile first, whether it's making payments, searching the internet or sharing experiences with friends. People increasingly expect that their mobile phones will be connected, wherever and whenever they need them. Great mobile connectivity is a key enabler for any venue’s strategy and fan engagement. It can transform fan experience, increase revenue and create new operational efficiencies but ensuring, consistent, strong connectivity throughout a venue can be challenging. The size and structure of venues often results in patchy and poor 4G/5G mobile coverage, without the capacity to handle the demands of large numbers of people in one location. A good Wi-Fi service can compensate and can be an important part of a venue’s connectivity mix but may struggle to completely fulfil the mobile data hungry demand of a sell-out audience. This Guide provides a non-technical overview of how any venue can achieve great 4G/5G mobile connectivity throughout the venue, wherever it’s needed. It also illustrates how such connectivity is a key enabler to meet the strategic challenges faced by venues. Written by Boldyn Networks, a leading global solutions provider of venue connectivity, we tap into insights gathered from over 300 major sports and entertainment venue connectivity solutions, that have been deployed by Boldyn worldwide to-date. Metro Madness! Ⓜ️🚇 ...and the Olympics start in just 2 weeks! One thing that has always baffled me about the underground train system in Paris is their persistence with the paper ticketing system. You’d think they’d follow the UK's lead with contactless payments and Apple Pay. I was told that due to data security concerns, they chosen to stick with paper tickets. I do however understand the advantages of physcial tickets, especially for the elderly and vulnerable, who may not be as comfortable with the technology. Nevertheless, this results in huge queues forming in the metro, which come 26th July when the Olympics start, will likely lead to absolute chaos - especially as the temperatures rise. Even on a typical day in Paris, the queues for metro tickets are long. Add thousands of fans heading to the Olympics into the mix and it’s bound to be hectic. They did introduce the Navigo Card, which is a step towards paperless, but you still need to queue to buy and top it up. It's a step in the right direction but still not as simple as Apple Pay. Maybe there are some experts out there who can shed light on this? The Navigo Card is a great solution for Parisians but not for tourists, who often seem confused. This confusion can cause stress and make it harder for visitors to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I’m on my monthly commute back to the UK, feeling like I’m living the life of planes, trains, and automobiles - the joys of residing in the French countryside! 😄 Another observation is the increased police presence in the metro. This could be in response to political unrest, the imminent start of the Olympics, or just the general tension in Paris at the moment. Hoping the city can successfully navigate these challenges in the coming weeks! #paris #france #parismetro #contactlesspayment #technology #olympicgames #olympicgamesparis2024 #parisian #citylife #iledefrance #digitaltransformation #publictransport #traveltips #paris2024 #commuting
