It was a great privilege to participate in a panel discussion during #NetworkX event in #paris representing #Vodafone and #TelcoOperator. Massive thanks to Mirko Cano Soveri from #ETSI and Michael Salmon from #verizon to share your viewpoint on the Quantum threat on digital communication especially telcos and How Telcos need to prepare to mitigate quantum risks and monetize opportunities . Strong collaboration is the need of the hour to address interoperability challenges via consortiums like #GSMA #PQTN, standards from #ETSI and #IETF. The conference seeks high-quality nominations for invited talks that will highlight recent advances in algorithmic research. The conference will provide a broad picture of the latest research in algorithms through a series of invited talks, as well as the possibility for all researchers and students to present their recent results through a series of short talks and poster presentations. Attending the IGAFIT Highlights of Algorithms conference will also be an opportunity for networking and meeting leading researchers in algorithms.    🚩 HALG 2024 is the 9th conference in the series; previous editions took place in Paris (2016), Berlin (2017), Amsterdam (2018), Copenhagen (2019), Zurich virtually (2020), London virtually (2021), London in-person (2022) and Prague (2023)    📜 There will be no conference proceedings. As a result, presenting work already published at a different venue or journal (or to be submitted there) is welcome.    🤝 The conference’s mission is to promote research on algorithmic foundations and foster a community in Europe. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking at #CyberTechEurope2024 in the Top Tech Talks Session. During the session, which was moderated by Filippo Cerocchi, Ph.D. and featured three other outstanding speakers Umberto Rosini Cristian Fontana Tamirat Abegaz, we had the opportunity to discuss how new and emerging technologies are shaping our lives and society as a whole. We specifically discussed the impact of emerging technologies such as AI and the cloud-edge continuum on: Modern distributed systems and infrastructures, such as the one at Polo Strategico Nazionale in Italy. Assessment and certification of distributed systems and infrastructures. AI robustness. Data management in high-risk domains, such as those considered by the Civil Protection Department in Italy. Great opportunities lie ahead of us, but much work remains to be done. Research centers, universities, and industry must collaborate to guide the ongoing technological (r)evolution, which shows no signs of slowing down, for the common good.
