I’m embarrassed that recruiters don’t prioritise inclusive recruitment. And I've been part of the problem. If we fail to create inclusive environments within our own ranks, how can we expect to drive change in the industries we serve? It’s on us to not only create safe spaces within our businesses, but to be braver and bolder in our approach with others. We can be agents of change. But we’ve discussed this enough to know that change won't come from complacency or looking inward. We must broaden our perspectives to truly understand the issues at stake, the real problems that demand solutions, and the diverse experiences of the people we interact with. I’ve shared more on this in my latest column for Recruiter Magazine, linked below. I’m repeating here my comments in the hope that it encourages others in recruitment to think about how the make an impact. And that people feel they can challenge and educate me on what’s needed.
