We are alternative under the adult beverage umbrella. At SōRSE Technology, we've always considered ourselves as a food and beverage ingredient technology company versus a "cannabis company". Many of our clients identify more with the general beverage industry than the cannabis industry - And many of our target customers (when it comes to low dose beverages) don't identify as a cannabis consumer yet either! The positioning of the Adult Beverage Alliance is spot on and helping us align more with alcohol and other adult beverage alternatives. If you're in Massachusetts, check out this association and how you can get involved. https://lnkd.in/euuiBaAJ #drinkcannabis Craft Collective, Inc. Thirteen companies, including hemp beverage manufacturers, supply chain partners, and alcohol retailers, have formed the Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives (CABA) to advocate for safe, legal THC beverages. Launched on October 16, 2024, CABA aims to influence federal legislation with a focus on product safety, transparency, and responsible marketing practices. The coalition, representing the hemp and alcohol industries, seeks to make hemp-derived delta-9 THC beverages accessible through traditional retail channels. CABA emphasizes the importance of clear regulatory pathways, such as age restrictions, third-party testing, and responsible marketing to ensure consumer safety and differentiate low-dose THC drinks from harmful products. The coalition will work with Congress as the 2025 Farm Bill reauthorization approaches. https://lnkd.in/gEtYXTwm

We want to be regulated, we want to be taxed...fairly. We have great individuals representing the space and the majority of us are in alignment about low dose beverages and their place as another non-alc alternative that should be sold OUTSIDE of the dispensary channel, leaving the high dose beverages where they belong, IN the dispensaries. We'll get there, and we'll get there together. #drinkcannabis #beverageindustry #thc #hemp #hempd9 #cannabisbeverages #thcbeverages #regulation
Vol. 3 of Spill the T (HC): How Can Hemp Beverages be Effectively and Safely Regulated? This past week, I spoke with a few industry leaders to get their opinions on the regulatory future of hemp-derived THC beverages. This is an important topic for all parties involved in the space; we have a product category that is currently seeing a sales explosion, but most states/markets are largely self-regulated by operators. In this piece I cover topics like the upcoming Farm Bill, consumer safety, dosing, the potential of TTB oversight, and more. The functional beverage category continues to expand, moving beyond just energy drinks and kombucha. In Minnesota, the legalization of low-potency, hemp-derived THC beverages has spurred a $200 million market, offering a new lifeline for local craft breweries and retailers. This trend demonstrates the potential for innovation and growth in the functional beverage space, appealing to consumers seeking alternatives to traditional alcohol and other wellness-focused drinks. I’m looking forward to seeing how this evolves for beverages like Tejas Tonic here in Texas.
