Vol. 2 of Spill the T (HC): Why Dispensaries are the Wrong Channel for THC Beverages The writing has been on the wall for a while, but here is a detailed perspective as to why THC beverages should continue to live outside the dispensary channel. Two important call outs: 1) No shade to any dispensaries carrying beverages, or any brands still operating in that channel. You are still an important part of this space! 2) There are always outliers. Uncle Arnie's and Keef Brands have still managed to crush it in the dispensary channel over the years. PAMOS BEVERAGE CO. and many other early entrants in cannabev faced tremendous resistance from the cannabis retail channel in California. "Consumers want to get high for cheap" "The beverages are too big and heavy for our operations" "They're too expensive" The latter two concerns are easily solved by using traditional beverage manufacturers and distributors. The first never made any sense, here's why - The heaviest cannabis users in the world buy beverages with zero mgs of THC. What's my point? A low dose cannabev is a beverage with cannabis in it. It should be enjoyed as such, so it only makes sense its sold where people shop with that mindset. Specs gets it. Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, LLC gets it. 8th Wonder Brewery + Distillery + Cannabis gets it. It's cool to see cannabev make it on the same truck as Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Here's what else you need to know about Pamos - I was set to write an article highlighting their success with an Arena in Florida that hosts NHL games. Unfortunately, that article is in the freezer until Pamos can find the proper insurance policy that will allow them to serve alongside alcoholic beverages at the venue.
