This week DGV was invited to participate in THRIVE 2030 Regional Consultations. THRIVE 2030 is Australia's national strategy for visitor economy recovery, aiming to return the sector to sustainable growth. The action plan for the first phase of the strategy is in its final year with phase 2 set to commence in 2025. As part of this process, Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) has been working with Austrade and the Tourism Policy, Sport and Experience Economy Group in the Department of Skills, Industry and Regions to support efforts in bringing this process to regional Victoria. 'It's vital our regions are heard and acknowledged throughout this engagement process. DGV prides itself on our ability to engage with our partners, as we strive towards being the voice of the region regarding visitor economy', Vicki Scott, Executive Officer. Vicki also highlighted the positive engagement DGV have had with VTIC, in particular CEO, Felicia Mariani (GAICD). The consultation process is open until 30 June 2024. https://lnkd.in/gwrCbn4b #destinationgoulburnvalley #dgv #gv #advocacy #consultation #engagement #leadership #regionalaustralia #regionalvictoria #collaboration #partnerships #sponsorships #buildingmomentum #prosperity #creativethinking #morewithless

Major Restructure in NSW Government Affects Enterprise and Innovation Departments In a significant reshuffle, NSW Premier Chris Minns announced that the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade will be dissolved with its core functions, including industry, innovation, trade, and investment, being integrated into the Premier’s department from July 1. This strategic move aims to centralise and enhance the efficiency of these sectors at the heart of government operations. The new structure will also birth the Department of Creative Industry, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport, which will inherit the arts and tourism functions and take on additional roles like managing Venues NSW and the NSW Institute of Sport. This reorganisation reflects the government's commitment to making NSW a central hub for trade and investment, facilitating easier collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders. As NSW aims to advance as a competitive centre for knowledge-based investments and innovative industries, these changes are pivotal. The government is also working on an Innovation Blueprint to foster a more collaborative ecosystem for state innovators https://bit.ly/3JgZIke #NSWGovernment #Innovation #IndustryPolicy #ChrisMinns #InnovateSydney

I'd like to share an intriguing article about Business as Mission (BAM)#bam. In the MBA program at Ray & Dorothy Young School of Business, Technology, & Design at Louisiana Christian University, we are encouraged to investigate how mission can be integrated into business. This article by BAM360 presents several examples of Business as Mission, illustrating how mission can be incorporated into the marketplace. There are several case studies reported in this article showing how real individuals were able to successfully run BAM operations to meet community needs, generate employment, and spread the impact of their businesses. Ultimately, this article demonstrates that BAM focuses on the ability to both make a profit and remain mission-driven to support their communities. BS+A Australian Expansion – Vol 1. 🇦🇺 I’m already two months into leading our expansion into Australia. Life has involved navigating more than just the local wildlife; from sidestepping eight-legged horrors to cautiously swimming in coastal waters, I’ve been diving into Australia's startup ecosystem. Weekend adventures and the 4.30am alarm for the Euros aside 🏴 , our primary focus has remained steadfast. Unlike the Three Lions, this English team is aligned when it comes to growth and success, and is pressing to seek new partnerships in: 🎨 Design 🖥 Web Development 📈 Business Growth Strategy 📣 Marketing Strategy 💰 Investment and Funding Support I have come to appreciate the nature of business here. I have been kindly welcomed, and experienced heaps of productive introductory calls with heaps of friendly business professionals. In Australia, there's a strong sense of community where professionals support and drive business together, often putting aside even competition to help a mate out. Life has slowed down on the shores of Byron Bay following a move from Manchester, but by no means has the business development. I am seeking more connections in this fantastic epicentre of innovation – 🇦🇺 businesses please connect, I would love to see how BS+A & I can support you on your growth journey. Hop over to: www.bsplusa.com END NOTE: If you're planning to set foot on these shores, grab yourself a Landcruiser with a pop-up tent. It has been a game changer for weekend exploring & No, I don't live in it.... yet. #StartupLife #AustraliaB2B #InternationalExpansion | BS+A | William Barratt

To continue to thrive, associations need to ensure that they’re not lulled into complacency when things are going well. According to a recent Advanced Solutions International, Inc. report, confidence among association executives is at an all-time high, with 67% expressing optimism about future growth and sustainability, up from 24% in 2023. Forecasts are promising, with 60% of associations confident in reaching revenue goals and 61% anticipating increased membership. A Marketing General Incorporated report shows that in-person events are back, with 61% planning to focus solely on them this year. With success comes the risk of complacency. The mistake lies in assuming that what worked during boom times will continue to work indefinitely. Associations can become too comfortable, relying on past success without adapting. Highly successful leaders know that to stay ahead, they must continuously adapt, innovate, and evolve their approach. Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gu8zsbkg
