✨ Yesterday’s call with Craig Fairweather left me buzzing with inspiration! 🌟 We dived into how Canberra’s business scene is leveling up ⬆️, with more recognition for successful Indigenous enterprises. Craig nailed it: success isn’t about ego—it’s about collaboration 🤝 and growth 🌱. The Canberra Innovation Network is key 🔑 in connecting the right people with the right opportunities, especially for our Indigenous communities. One story that really hit home 🏡 was how SERVICE ONE teamed up with the University of Canberra to launch Millhouse Ventures. Initially, they tried to cater to both Indigenous and mainstream businesses, but soon realized the need for specialized support. It’s a perfect example of the power of asking for help 🙏 and opportunity for us to collaborat on making a bigger impact 💥. Another golden nugget? Feedback loops 🔄 in accelerators and incubators are crucial. Everyone deserves a shot, regardless of their financial situation 💸, and in order to improve accelerators/incubators, you need good feedback loops to collect data and improve. 💬 Even though this is Australia’s political capital—in both government and culture—Canberra is pure networking and collaboration ground zero 🎯. I’ve always believed that "YOUR NETWORK IS A REFLECTION OF YOU NETWORK" 🌐—and Canberra is where those connections truly come to life. I’m pumped to keep building a stronger, more inclusive business community here in Canberra. Let’s keep asking: "How can we support?" 💪 #IndigenousBusiness #Canberra #Collaboration #Innovation #Networking #CommunityPower

The first endorser of our European Agenda for Inclusive Entrepreneurship is none other than Alexander De Croo, Belgian Prime Minister and leader of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024. Mr De Croo, a former entrepreneur himself, agreed with UNITEE President Adem Kumcu, Ph.D that we need to create a more inclusive environment, empower entrepreneurs, and connect across diversity for an economically strong and stable Europe. 💪 According to the OECD - OCDE "Missing Entrepreneurs" report, empowering underrepresented groups such as women, youth, the elderly, and people with cross-cultural backgrounds to step into the world of entrepreneurship will create 7.5 million additional entrepreneurs across Europe! 📈 Make sure to read our manifesto, where we outline inclusive entrepreneurship policies needed to achieve this goal 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ek2QqPgw #InclusiveEntrepreneurship #EuropeanAgendaforInclusiveEntrepreneurship #MigrantEntrepreneurship #WomenEntrepreneurship #YouthEntrepreneurship #DiversityPowersEurope

It’s hard to disagree here. Having just spent a week in the US, these trips are always a reminder of the cultural differences when it comes to ambition levels, entrepreneurship, and risk taking. European countries have a different social contract and don’t reward risk taking as much while penalising failure hard. This spans from cultural norms to the tax codes. There is a big potential to unlock and unleash more innovation and entrepreneurship (and hence more future prosperity) in Europe given all the great societal foundations around, but we need to both incentivize and celebrate high risk taking and extraordiary efforts much more.

What is cross-border innovation? 🌍 Last year, while working with various chambers of commerce, I realized something crucial was missing— There wasn't a dedicated Colorado-Israel Chamber of Commerce (CO-IL). Given shared economic and environmental concerns between both ecosystems ranging from water and agriculture to defense and more, not to mention a burgeoning commercial relationship, Colorado and Israel deserve a body aimed at pushing their business relationship forward. Seeing the gap, I felt compelled to fill it. However, as soon as I began making strides, Oct. 7th happened and war broke out, putting everything on pause. Amidst the chaos of reserve duty, one silver lining was connecting with Jeremiah Baronberg, who became our Colorado director, providing the impetus to push this Chamber of Commerce initative forward along with our amazing team: Benny Hillman, Nitsan Naidorf, and Simon Schwartz. Despite all of these challenges, we are now gaining momentum. In February 2024, along with several partners including the Israel Economic Mission to the South & Midwest U.S., we helped in coordinating our first water tech delegation, and, since our January launch, our membership and partners are steadily growing. It is through building stronger economic ties like this we can hope to not only bring value to both ecosystems, but stymie the growing wave of antisemitism as well by ensuring long-term partnerships and success in these uncertain times. We are are committed to expanding our network of like-minded professionals, businesses, and organizations, so do be in touch if you are interested in learning more. Our mission remains clear: to bridge the economic and innovative landscapes of Colorado and Israel. By fostering these connections, we aim to bring substantial value to both Colorado and Israel, two places I hold dear. Thanks James Spiro and CTech by Calcalist for the feature!
