Today is #Worldwildlifeday. Let us all stand still and think about how every single one of us can contribute towards the protection of wildlife, ecosystems and the planet. Together we can make a difference not only for our generation but also for future generations. Simple things everyone can do: 1. support a conservation organisation or project of your choice 2. reduce the use of single used plastic in your daily doings 3. care for local wildlife (e.g. insect hotel, water trees in your neighbourhood or collect trash from the street) And last but not least: believe in it. We do can make a difference together. #protect #conserve #wildlife #greenplanet #oneplanapproach #speciesplanning #urbannature

The #woodland in the UK supports some rare, unique and endangered flora, fauna and ecosystems. Caring for woodland can be complex, so professional advice and action is essential. Our professional #arboriculture team creates and implements woodland management plans. We use mechanised plant and harvesting equipment where required, for example when undertaking clearance, thinning and windblown operations. Carefully managing woodland to ensure that it thrives is imperative in not only increasing and protecting #biodiversity, but in maintaining all that they can offer us. Read our top tips on woodland management here: https://lnkd.in/ePcAkziv

🌿🌏 Landcare Week is the perfect time to share the impactful work of Western Landcare on seed nurseries for rangelands rehydration. Far western NSW faced a significant challenge with no accessible seed collection sites to support local conservation. To address this, Western Landcare, with funding from the NSW Environmental Trust, established 20 seed nurseries on properties across the region. 🌱 These nurseries, each measuring 1 hectare and protected by exclusion fencing, serve as critical sources for collecting and dispersing locally endemic seeds. Over the past couple of years, favourable rainfall and dedicated monitoring have shown great results, providing stable ecological habitats that accelerate landscape recovery. 🌳💧 This initiative is a key component of Rangeland Rehydration and 'RAIN READY' techniques, ensuring the availability of native seeds for ongoing rehabilitation efforts. Let’s work together to protect and enhance our environment. 👉 Learn more and get involved with Western Landcare NSW: https://ow.ly/6lAx50SVhfn #LandcareWeek2024 #LandcareIsForEveryone #SeedNurseries #RangelandsRehydration #CommunityInvolvement #Sustainability #LandcareAustralia #LandcareNSW #WesternLandcare Supported by the NSW Landcare Program.

Wildlife Conservation Day, also seen as World Conservation Day, is a reminder to protect our planet’s wildlife and natural resources, a reminder that every small action we take can make a big difference in protecting our planet’s incredible wildlife and nature. Whether it’s through awareness, sustainable choices, or hands-on conservation, we all play a part. Here are some simple ways to contribute: 🚫 Boycott products that harm animals 🥗 Embrace a plant-based diet 🌲 Plant native trees 🚶 Take a nature walk and reconnect with the environment 🐾 Volunteer with a conservation organisation 📺 Watch a nature documentary to learn more ♻️ Get into recycling and reduce waste 📝 Research and write about a habitat at risk ✍️ Sign a petition to support conservation efforts Healthy ecosystems give us essentials like pollination, clean water, and pest control. Let’s each do our part to protect our planet – for ourselves and generations to come. 🌱 How do you plan to contribute today? We see giants, they see their home. Elephants, the gentle giants of the savanna, often wander into our communities, sparking fear and frustration. But let's pause for a moment and consider their perspective. They're not invaders; they're simply searching for food and water, just like us. Through community-led conservation efforts, we're forging a new path—one where humans and wildlife thrive together. By fostering understanding, empathy, and sustainable practices, we're creating a future where elephants are not seen as adversaries, but as partners in conservation. #wildlifeconservation #communityLedConservation

Today, as we mark World Bee Day, it's a humble reminder of the invaluable role bees play in our world. Their tireless efforts in pollination are often overlooked, yet they are fundamental to the delicate balance of our ecosystem. As we admire these tiny but mighty creatures, let's also remember the importance of bee conservation and habitat protection. Every flower they visit, every crop they pollinate, plays a vital role in our food chain. So, whether you're planting bee-friendly flowers, supporting local beekeepers, or simply spreading awareness about their importance, let's all do our part to create a world where bees can thrive! Let's bee the change we wish to see in the world! 🐝💛🌻 #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #BeeKind #PollinatorPower #BuzzingForBees #BeeTheChange #HiveMind #BeeHappy #Chiief #BeeConservation #PollinatorProtection #BeeAwareness #BeeSupport #Beekeepers

🍃 Tackling Weeds in a Bushland Reserve 🍃 1.30-2.30pm 10 Sept Online. Join WA Landcare Network Inc and its special guests to discuss how best to tackle the seemingly insurmountable burden of introduced weeds in a bushland reserve. Many Friends of Reserve Groups are daunted by the sheer number of weeds in their local patch, and could use a bit of guidance about how to prioritise and plan an effective weed control program. This is a chance to raise your weed control issues in a forum of like minded people and to hear from others about their challenges and their strategies. Presenters: 🍃 Peta Lierich, Biodiversity Officer and weed specialist from Nature Conservation Margaret River Region. "How groups can tackle their weed issues and how they are working with nearby residents to ensure reinfestation of reserves is minimised." 🍃 Peta Goodwin from the Friends of Barrett Street Reserve in Margaret River who is passionate about tackling weeds in her patch. "Hear how this small group have planned weed control activities, harnessed external volunteer labour to make an impact, and even engaged an artist to raise community awareness of common weeds within the reserve."
