We see giants, they see their home. Elephants, the gentle giants of the savanna, often wander into our communities, sparking fear and frustration. But let's pause for a moment and consider their perspective. They're not invaders; they're simply searching for food and water, just like us. Through community-led conservation efforts, we're forging a new path—one where humans and wildlife thrive together. By fostering understanding, empathy, and sustainable practices, we're creating a future where elephants are not seen as adversaries, but as partners in conservation. #wildlifeconservation #communityLedConservation

🌾The Midwest’s native prairie ecosystems are more than just vast stretches of flat, fertile grassland - they are home to a rich diversity of wildflowers and wildlife, thriving in moderate temperatures and rainfall. Unfortunately, these landscapes are disappearing due to development, putting countless species at risk. 🤝That’s why ITC is stepping up! In collaboration with local communities, state and national agencies, and conservation groups, we’re committed to protecting and restoring these endangered ecosystems. Our efforts have already made a positive impact on the Lakeplain Oak Openings region in Michigan and Ohio. Plus, we’ve launched three prairie restoration projects along transmission line corridors in Iowa, covering 42 acres. 🌱Together, we can make a difference! #EnvironmentalPartner https://ow.ly/Rbfg50TX8ZN

The headline is that 20 conservation projects will benefit from what's called the Species Survival Fund, with "the ambition to restore over 3,300 hectares of critical habitats for wildlife, such as the Atlantic rainforest, grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands – a total area equivalent to the size of York." This will make a great difference to organizations and communities laser-focuses on helping to restore biodiversity-rich nature across England - but then what we're talking about here are just 25 million. Don't get me wrong, communities can do a great deal with 25 million - but where do these 25 million stand in context with the British government's overall spending, with regard to nature restoration - but also with regard to subsidies for climate-and nature-harming industries? Cain Blythe sure you would know? Where can I find out more about how much the UK govt actually allocates for nature restoration efforts? https://lnkd.in/dpt45h5j

Each year, monarch butterflies cycle through several generations before migrating to central Mexico or coastal California. They need large, intact natural landscapes to complete their journey. That’s why NFWF’s Monarch Butterfly and Pollinators Conservation Fund is seeking grant proposals to conserve monarch butterflies and at-risk pollinators. Learn more and apply for up to $5.1 million in grant funding: https://loom.ly/D19_eiw Thanks to our partners in this effort, Bayer | Crop Science, Danone, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company Foundation, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Bureau of Land Management and USDA Forest Service. 📷: A monarch butterfly colony in Mexico #pollinators #monarchbutterflies #environment #conservation

The tragic death of an endangered greater glider near a logging site in Yarra Ranges National Park highlights the critical need for immediate action. 💔 Despite warnings, habitat destruction continues, threatening the survival of these unique creatures. 🐾 Dr. Kita Ashman, conservation scientist at WWF-Australia, stated, "Hollow-bearing trees are like gold. Hollows can take hundreds of years to form and without hollows greater gliders and many other threatened species simply can’t survive. It’s outrageous that despite warnings these trees had precious, occupied hollows they were levelled anyway and at least one glider killed. A tree planted right now will not have a usable greater glider hollow in our lifetime. It’s no wonder we face an extinction crisis." Join us in advocating for stricter protection measures and a halt to these harmful practices. We must act before it’s too late. ⏳ 📝 Petition: https://lnkd.in/dp_2jerf 📰 Article: https://lnkd.in/dyycgzVr

Take Action! 🗳️Vote YES for Prop 4! “Support Proposition 4 to inject $10 BILLION into California’s parks, energy, and water resources, with $2 billion dedicated to vital wetland restoration”. 🌾🌊🌊 95% of California’s wetlands are already gone and #DucksUnlimited strongly believes the funds designated for Prop 4 are critical to implement projects that restore, protect and enhance wildlife habitat, biodiversity, and water resiliency. DU has utilized similar bond funds, authorized by voters, to create lasting, and meaningful conservation projects. Please follow the link to see a list! 🌲🦆 #naturebasedsolutions

The Cool Down: Experts come together to protect severely imperiled American tree species: 'Without stewardship, they will be gone' It is quite interesting when “concerned state US state government agencies and nonprofits as well as indigenous communities” team up to protect increasingly disappearing “white oak trees.” Trees have been, are, and will continue to be central — not just in the fight for climate change but also in providing ecological habitats as safe grounds for breeding and feeding to a plethora of wildlife species. It’s this and other values, protecting and conserving mature trees such as white oaks should not be politicized instead bringing stakeholders together in ensuring survival and thrive of mature trees. #whiteoak

🌍 World Rhino Day 2024: Protecting Our Heritage, Shaping Our Future 🦏 Today, we come together to celebrate these majestic creatures and raise awareness about the urgent need to protect rhinos from poaching, habitat loss, and the growing threats they face in the wild. As global leaders, organizations, and communities, it’s not just about preserving a species — it's about safeguarding biodiversity, securing ecosystems, and recognizing the impact that conservation efforts have on future generations. 🔍 What can we do? Support conservation programs that directly protect rhino populations. Educate others about the critical role rhinos play in the environment. Advocate for stronger policies to end illegal poaching and wildlife trafficking. I understand the importance of taking action — whether in conservation or in leadership — to build a sustainable future. Let’s unite for a world where rhinos thrive, because their survival is our responsibility. #WorldRhinoDay #ConservationMatters #RhinoConservation #SustainableFuture #LeadsChange #BiodiversityProtection #IndustrialPsychology #LeadershipForChange
