Embrace your lifestyle choices - bring personal wellness into your everyday experience of your home. Personal wellness has become something of a catch-all buzzword since the pandemic, and there is no doubt that many people now have a considerably more deliberate approach to their overall health, fitness and general wellbeing. What that means is unique to each individual. It could be as holistic as looking at the whole building that forms your home: perhaps you need an oasis of calm to insulate you from the rigours of daily life, or perhaps you need a series of separate spaces to move you from work, to the arts, to comfort. The materials, styles, sights and sounds that make up each space are the key to this, along with the overall experience you create along the way. Over the coming weeks, we will be looking at the various elements of wellness that can be brought into your new home project. #zebraproperty #wellness #lifestyle

WELLBEING WEDNESDAY - SPA DAY WITH THE LADS? WHY NOT! This week sees the Global Wellness Summit in Scotland, where thought leaders in the wellness world come together to discuss and shape the interconnected world of wellness. This also coincides with National Spa Week in the UK, and as its Movember let’s talk more about men’s wellbeing and the spa environment. Once a niche idea, men’s spa days and male-only retreats are on the rise, with male spa attendance tripling in the last five years (ISPA, 2023). The Global Wellness Institute’s trend ‘From Manning Up to Opening Up’ shows that a cultural shift is underway with a rise of social and emotional wellness offerings to help men to connect with themselves and each other; prioritising both physical and mental health, and embracing wellness rituals without stigma. So, how can we help more men in other parts of the world embrace this trend and see spas and wellness experiences as an essential for their mental, physical, emotional and social wellbeing? By letting them know that a spa day or retreat offers a whole lot more than just some downtime—it’s a chance to recharge, manage stress and anxiety, with retreats offering new approaches for recognising and dealing healthily with emotions. There is also the opportunity to bond with friends and other men; so important in these times when male loneliness and isolation are on the rise. That said how robust is your current spa menu and wellbeing offering vis-à-vis this trend for men? Could you be doing more? Are retreats something that you’d be interested in hosting, but don't know where to start on implementing them? If this is something you’d like to explore then I’m here to help, using my 360° Transformational Guest Wellbeing Experience framework. Most hotel wellness offerings focus on solving physical wellbeing problems. For example: 👉🏼 deep-tissue massage to remedy a tight back 👉🏼 anti-ageing facial to make your skin appear more radiant and ‘lifted’ This is because, traditionally, most wellness businesses are built around offering short-term reprieve. We offer services that provide instant, albeit temporary, relief. Who doesn’t feel better after a massage? It’s where we feel comfortable to operate. But by adopting this approach we essentially set ourselves up for failure. We overlook the fact that these physical problems tend to be the symptom of larger underlying lifestyle problems which aren’t so easy to fix with a one-off treatment. By focusing on the treating the symptom and offering temporary relief, we build short-term and transient custom. We fail to build long-term and continuous custom because we don’t target the root cause. Helping our guests solve their longer term wellbeing problems will lengthen their journey with us. The longer our guests are with us, the more engaged they are, and the more they spend. It’s a win-win situation for all - our hotel, guests and teams. Question: 👉🏼 Is your offering built around treating the symptom or the root cause? #wellbeing #wellnessinhospitality

66 Days: Reframe Wellness Campaign Be Present I hope that you are enjoying your holiday weekend friends. The Reframe Wellness Campaign is actively engaging 10K people to create + sustain a culture of wellness and I’m glad that you are connected! What’s become a priority in my life and in my work as a Wellness Lifestyle Coach + Consultant is a practice that I fully embrace: being present. When I am in conversation with a client, friends, family and someone engaging me, my device is out of sight. When I’m away or on vacation, my device/messages are secondary to being connected to where I am. What this allows is for you and I to be fully present with that person or in that place and to hear and see with better awareness. Capturing moments is great but reframe by practicing quickly putting your device away after you’ve captured the moment- the most important connection/conversation is in front of you!! Take it in and notice how you feel and remember that practice makes permanent. Have a wonderful Saturday and I appreciate you for engaging as we reframe wellness- TOGETHER! Be well, 💛e-
