This morning I had the privilege of sitting in on Gary Blair's wellness program with the KPMG PNG & Fiji team. The session was a powerful reminder of the importance of looking after ourselves and the transformational impact that building good habits can have on our lives. One key takeaway from the session was that wellness is not about grand gestures or fleeting resolutions but about small, consistent actions. Whether it's starting the day with a walk, carving out time for mindfulness, or simply staying hydrated, these micro-habits build the foundation for long-term health and well-being. It was inspiring to hear everyone sharing their health goals during the session. From fitness challenges to prioritising mental health, it was clear that wellness means something different to everyone. What united us all was the shared understanding that taking care of ourselves is not optional—it's essential. Why Wellness Matters: 🏓 Physical Health Fuels Performance: When we feel good physically, we show up better in all areas of life—at work, with family, and for ourselves. 💡 Mental Clarity and Focus: Wellness practices, like meditation or journaling, help declutter our minds, making space for creativity and clear thinking. 🏃♀️ Energy to Achieve Goals: A well-cared-for body and mind give us the stamina to pursue our ambitions without burning out. 🙌 A Positive Ripple Effect: When we prioritise our health, we model those habits for our colleagues, families, and communities.
