🌍 Empowering Youth for a Brighter Future 🌍 Reflecting on my time at the Model Youth United Nations event back in university, I’m reminded of the immense potential within young people to shape our world. Events like these showcase the power of youth voices, perspectives, and ideas to create real change—not just within our communities but globally. When young people are given a platform, the results are extraordinary. 🌟 They bring fresh ideas, bold solutions, and the drive to make a difference. Empowering youth isn’t just about personal growth; it’s about creating a ripple effect that benefits entire societies. If we can keep encouraging youth to dream bigger, speak louder, and engage deeply, our nations and our world will only continue to move forward. #YouthEmpowerment #Opportunity #ChangeMakers #GlobalFuture #Leadership

As we celebrate Youth Day, it’s important to recognize that the role of young people extends far beyond symbolic gestures or token invitations to high-level discussions. Youth should not just be included at the start of initiatives; they must be empowered to participate fully in key decision-making processes. Too often, we see young people invited to the table simply to tick a box, without being given the space to truly contribute. In this digital era, youth are more than just participants—they are the creators and innovators driving progress. Equipped with digital skills and fresh perspectives, they are uniquely positioned to tackle the challenges of our time. However, it’s not enough to just provide training. Youth need intentional mentorship that goes beyond the classroom, guiding them as they navigate the complexities of leadership and social impact. This kind of support helps ensure that their potential is fully realized, and that they are prepared to take on the challenges they face. As we look to the future, let’s commit to more than just inviting youth to the table. Let’s ensure they have a real voice in shaping the policies and decisions that will impact their lives and communities. Together, we can create an environment where young people are not only heard but are also empowered to lead. #YouthDay #YouthEmpowerment #DigitalEra #MentorshipMatters #Leadership #MWF2024

Figures from 2021 show that women only make up around 16.5% of engineers. We recognise the importance in changing perceptions, combatting stereotypes and, ultimately, encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM careers. As part of our commitment to this, we’ve developed initiatives to ensure the right support is available – including our Women in Leadership programme to empower women into leadership, and our Girls Believe Academy which is helping to inspire the next generation of female talent into the built environment industry. There is so much to be gained from having diversity in engineering and by embracing this, we can work to build a brighter future. 👩🔧 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gWVHKN4N #InternationalWomenInEngineeringDay #INWED24 #WomenInSTEM

We’re bridging the gap from education to expert. As of 2023, women hold 32.4% of senior leadership roles globally. The path to gender parity in corporate leadership remains slow, with some industries still underrepresented. For instance, women only occupy 28% of C-suite positions, with the majority of these roles still held by men. By offering scholarships, mentorship programs, and leadership training, we ensure women not only gain access to higher education but also receive the support needed to excel in their careers. Our holistic approach bridges the gap between education and leadership, empowering more women to ascend to senior roles in industries where they have been traditionally underrepresented. Together, we are working to create a future where women lead, innovate, and inspire in STEM and beyond. Around the world, most teachers in lower grades are women. ⚠️ However, as students advance in their education, they encounter fewer female teachers — a pattern observed globally. Fewer female teachers also means fewer female school leaders. 💡 But we have so much to learn from women in school leadership! Emerging evidence from UNICEF Innocenti, International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO), and the Gender at the Centre Initiative shows that women lead differently, and female-led schools often outperform their male counterparts. Having more women in leadership can empower young girls and help improve student wellbeing and learning. Much of the recent research we read also shows that women practice more collaborative leadership, are better instructional leaders, and prioritize student wellbeing. How can we celebrate and support Women in Education? Read our new blog to discover more: https://lnkd.in/d8gj8ss4
