Figures from 2021 show that women only make up around 16.5% of engineers. We recognise the importance in changing perceptions, combatting stereotypes and, ultimately, encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM careers. As part of our commitment to this, we’ve developed initiatives to ensure the right support is available – including our Women in Leadership programme to empower women into leadership, and our Girls Believe Academy which is helping to inspire the next generation of female talent into the built environment industry. There is so much to be gained from having diversity in engineering and by embracing this, we can work to build a brighter future. 👩🔧 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gWVHKN4N #InternationalWomenInEngineeringDay #INWED24 #WomenInSTEM

Only a quarter of leaders are women. Such disheartening statistics and the lack of visibility of female leaders in IT create the impression that they don't exist at all, meaning there's no example to follow or motivation for career development. We want to remind you that we have the power to change these statistics and that each of us can become a role model for other girls 💜 In our 'How to promote Women leadership in IT' guide, we've compiled a practical manual that will help you not only to become more confident in yourself and develop your leadership qualities but also to advocate for the idea of female leadership to C-level management and HR. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/dj3FK-xV Women in Tech project is implemented by the Gender Research Center of EHU, with financial support from the European Union. #EUforBelarus #ЕСдляБеларусі #wintech #womenintechbelarus #womenintech

We’re bridging the gap from education to expert. As of 2023, women hold 32.4% of senior leadership roles globally. The path to gender parity in corporate leadership remains slow, with some industries still underrepresented. For instance, women only occupy 28% of C-suite positions, with the majority of these roles still held by men. By offering scholarships, mentorship programs, and leadership training, we ensure women not only gain access to higher education but also receive the support needed to excel in their careers. Our holistic approach bridges the gap between education and leadership, empowering more women to ascend to senior roles in industries where they have been traditionally underrepresented. Together, we are working to create a future where women lead, innovate, and inspire in STEM and beyond. Women leaders bring value to business that is seldom formally rewarded. An example – women are more likely to put energy into supporting employees’ well-being and fostering diversity. Putting time and effort into unrecognized, but critical work can lead to higher levels of stress. And even though more women are attaining business degrees and finding their places in the C-suite, stereotypes and roadblocks still exist. Various programs, discussed in the referenced article, are helping prepare and empower the next generation of women business leaders. Vistage knows the value of women business leaders, the unique assets they bring to the business world, and the unique perspectives they bring to our groups. I’m actively seeking more women to participate in the three groups I facilitate, each focused on a different level of leadership. Contact me to discuss which group may be a fit for you and how you can benefit. 720-353-3515, [email protected], or use my Calendly link to set up a time that works for you: http://bit.ly/4d85H8g. #FemaleLeadership #Leadership #Vistage https://lnkd.in/gAvkf6fW

Today, as we celebrate the amazing young women in our lives, let’s take a moment to reflect on our responsibility to prepare the next generation of female leaders. Our daughters are the future—leaders, innovators, changemakers—and it’s up to us to provide them with the tools, support, and confidence to thrive in every sphere of life. Empowerment starts at home, but it doesn’t stop there. We need to be intentional about: 💡 Mentorship – Guiding them to embrace their unique strengths and navigate challenges with courage. 🌱 Opportunities – Ensuring they have access to platforms that nurture their ambitions, whether in business, STEM, social impact, or beyond. 💪 Resilience – Teaching them to rise above obstacles and to understand that their voices have immense value. 🌍 Inclusion – Encouraging them to be advocates for themselves and others, creating a future where all women can thrive. The path to leadership isn't easy, but with the right support and belief in their potential, there is no limit to what our daughters can achieve. Let’s continue to uplift, empower, and invest in them—because today’s daughters are tomorrow’s fearless leaders. 💫 #DaughtersDay #FutureLeaders #WomenInLeadership #Empowerment #Mentorship #Inclusion #Resilience #DaughtersOfTomorrow

Lisa Kaplan was dropping some serious information in this week's MBJ, including: 1. Women earn 83 cents to the male-earned dollar. 2. Women represent less than 25% of C-Suite positions. 3. 10% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. 4. Women represent 80% of consumer and health care spending. The economic power of women is a major cornerstone for ICAN's Women's Leadership Conference, coming May 15 to CHI Health Center Arena. Today, women face a lot of challenges in the professional landscape, from societal biases to leadership disparities, hindering them from realizing their untapped potential. In line with this years' theme for the International Womens Week; “Invest in women: Accelerate Progress,” #IWW2024 #InspireInclusion I have made it my intention to dedicate myself to invest in upcoming future female leaders and empower them with tranferrable skills that will aid them in breaking the glass ceiling thereby creating a domino effect. My five action steps towards my intention include; 🤝Empowering young women to be confident in themselves and make their daily intention to be a better version of themselves. #selfconfidence 🤝 Empowering young women to embrace the two sides of the coin; the pro's and the con's in their entirety; Understanding that negative outcomes bring out the best version of themselves. #defyingthestatusquo 🤝 Encouraging young women to trust their instincts and taking on new challenges for transformational leadership. #transformationalleadership 🤝 Encouraging collaboration; we all have our unique talents and with combined efforts we can achieve greater outcomes to make a difference in our communities. #collaborativeefforts 🤝 Being compassionate and empathic to help young women in their areas of weakness as opposed to being critical. Acknowledging your weakness is the first step to success and overcoming what you fear. #compassionateleadership " A society that only tends to empower one group of people while completely ignoring the other is a society that can never thrive." We all have a role to play to empower women to find their voice, be better versions of themselves for them to make better decisions that will benefit our communities. How are you investing in women to empower them?

Nkechi S. Owoo, Ph.D, PEP Research Fellow, shares why #womeninleadership matter: "Women's research leadership matters because it provides an important platform and presents opportunities to highlight issues of relevance to women that may otherwise receive less attention. Women in research leadership positions blaze an important trail for younger female researchers from diverse backgrounds and imbibe a confidence that their voices can and do matter." #InternationalWomensDay
