Delivering first-of-a-kind (FOAK) hydrogen projects isn't without its hurdles. From escalating costs and policy delays to offtaker uncertainty, the path to success demands innovative approaches and strategic solutions. Equans is closely involved in the delivery of the hydrogen economy and in our latest whitepaper, we share insights on three critical ways to de-risk hydrogen projects: - Enhancing design and procurement processes to mitigate uncertainty and provide cost certainty ⚙️ - Optimising project economics by balancing DEVEX, CAPEX, and OPEX to improve affordability 💡 - Leveraging government support to drive FOAK projects and foster resilient domestic supply chains 🤝 Discover actionable strategies to navigate these challenges and move your hydrogen projects closer to successful Final Investment Decisions (FID) in the full whitepaper here: https://lnkd.in/e7MgUB-k #Hydrogen #Economy #EmpoweringTransitions

We continue our streak of award recognition on Equans partnerships, through wins at this week’s Operational PPP Summit (OPPPS) 🎉 We were very pleased to pick up the ‘Best Operational/Handback Support in a Project’ award for our work on the King's College London PFI contract, as well as ‘The Lifecyle Award’ for our chiller and MRI lifestyle project at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. We were also delighted that our partnership at Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth was awarded best ‘The Public/Private Sector Collaboration – Healthcare’, and our Waltham Forest Schools partnership attained ‘Community Engagement of the Year’ for Frederick Bremer School’s Community Fridge and Garden. The OPPP Awards celebrate the projects, organisations and people that have been leading in the operational partnerships sector, recognising best practice in the industry. We’re incredibly proud of our work with both our public and private sector partners, and our teams who deliver operational excellence every day as part of this. Congratulations to all those involved! We're committed to creating lasting positive change in every community where we operate. At Manchester City Council, where we manage facilities for the city’s extensive public buildings portfolio and housing, we’re proud to deliver high quality FM services as well as significant social value. With over 40,000 jobs completed citywide, our work supports the Council’s decarbonisation and sustainability goals whilst creating positive impacts for the local community. In 2023, we generated around £10 million of social value across the city through our Public Buildings and Housing Services partnerships - supporting local charities, partnering with educational institutions to prepare students for future careers, and providing development and apprenticeship opportunities throughout the city. By putting people at the heart of what we do, we're making a real difference in Manchester and across the whole of the UK ⬇️ #SocialValue #Sustainability #FacilitiesManagement #ProudToMakeItReal

We're proud to share that we have been recertified Platinum status for 2024 in the Sustainable FM Index (The SFMI) - the UK's only ESG benchmark for the FM sector 🎉 This marks the fifth year that we've achieved this recognition, and we are one of only five companies in the sector to be awarded Platinum in 2024. It reflects our commitment to integrating sustainability across all our FM operations, as well as the dedication of our teams who embody our IMPACT Manifesto principles every day. We're excited to continue leading the way in sustainable FM, both as a business and with our customers. Last week was National Tree Week, and we were reminded of the essential role our forests and green spaces play in tackling climate change. Research has shown that last year, the hottest on record, saw a concerning decline in the planet’s natural ability to absorb carbon. Droughts, wildfires, and other extreme weather events temporarily reduced the absorption by forests, plants, and soil. This highlights that re-planting and reforestation aren’t just a ‘nice to have’—they’re vital for restoring balance, capturing carbon, and creating sustainable, resilient ecosystems. Our teams across the UK joined the effort last week, planting trees and daffodil bulbs in partnership with local councils. These small actions are part of a larger sustainability journey which we’re committed to through our IMPACT Manifesto. See just some of our teams in action ⬇️ #NationalTreeWeek #Reforestation #Decarbonisation #ClimateAction
