Barbara Bruno, CPC, CTS’ Post

The National Association of Personnel Services recently honored my husband Tony with a heartfelt tribute, and I’m excited to share it with you! Before we were married, Tony was my first trainer in this amazing profession. Ironically, I followed in his footsteps, becoming a speaker and trainer myself long before we tied the knot 13 years later. Tony touched so many lives with his wisdom, kindness, and dedication, and this tribute beautifully captures his lasting impact. Remembering Anthony (Tony) J. Bruno A Cherished Leader & Mentor The staffing and recruiting profession lost a cherished leader and mentor with the passing of Anthony (Tony) J. Bruno on July 2, 2024. A pioneer in the industry, Tony was one of the most respected trainers of his time. When the National Association of Personnel Services (then the National Employment Association) was formed in the early 1960s, Tony dedicated himself to the cause, offering his expertise to help build the association's membership and reputation. Traveling to major cities across the country, he provided invaluable training free of charge, introducing countless professionals to the principles and practices that would shape their success, while signing up new members for the Association. Throughout his career, Tony's unique blend of practical wisdom, humor, and unwavering commitment to excellence made him a beloved figure. He created the renowned Bruno System for Success, a set of best practices that became the standard for learning how to succeed in the Staffing and Recruiting Profession. He continued to promote NAPS Membership and the Certification Program. His legacy endures not only through the knowledge he shared but also in the countless lives and careers he touched. In 1996, Tony was inducted into the NAPS Hall of Fame, a lasting tribute to his impact on the profession.
