I am thrilled about this year's RDC and the surge in brand interest in Roblox. The UGC gaming market is truly dynamic, with platforms like Roblox, UEFN, and Sandbox leading the way in innovation. As a veteran with over 20 years in the industry, I find it fascinating to witness the creativity emerging from UGC platforms. Brands are leveraging these platforms to engage with audiences in unique ways. I see three key pillars in how brands are interacting in this space: 1. The Canvas: UGC platforms offer a versatile canvas where brands can unleash their creativity, enabling groundbreaking game mechanics and reimagining the gaming landscape. 2. The Paint: Brands can introduce themselves to new audiences, creating experiences that bridge virtual and real-world engagement, such as the "Games to life" concept. 3. The Artist: By fostering interactive relationships among brands, gamers, and platforms, developers can seamlessly merge the virtual and real worlds, creating immersive experiences. ✨ The team have done it again! 🚀 After months of hard work, our phenomenal team have built a new native SDK that has never been seen before in the immersive in-game Ad world! 🌎 GADSME now supports ALL game engines in one SDK. This includes Unreal, Cocos2d, Godot and any custom engine utilising C++. And not only this, but it still supports all our usual in-game Ad formats - display, video and audio. Plus it still offers the same simple, easy integration and with all the usual cool benefits to maximise revenues for game studios and deliver engaging advertisements for brands. "We have many studio partners that build and develop games outside of Unity, especially our AAA publishers. But also many mobile games build on other engines too. It was frustrating that we couldn't support them. It was also clear no one else in the in-game industry couldn't help either. A clear opportunity was being missed and we decided it was down to us to develop a solution that could help everyone. But, it had to stay true to our values - be lightweight, be easily integrated, no coding or heavy lifting required, be stable and deliver all the usual functionality our partners have experienced on Unity for years. I'm always impressed by our engineering team, but this time they really surpassed themselves. Early results have been fantastic and I can't believe how quickly games have installed the new SDK. Or how popular it has been. In fact, if I'm being totally honest, demand was so popular we were slightly worried. Some very large games went live in the first week. Always a slightly nerve racking moment. But feedback was hugely positive. A few small tweaks, as expected, but nothing out of the ordinary. I think there is fatigue in content discovery as well as subscription fatigue. ⭐ As technology changes and we must keep up with new trends, it’s very expensive if you have a big infrastructure as a large broadcaster. Where I see over the last 12-18 months, people are trying to do things smarter and cheaper. ⭐ Viewers are moving on based on content availability and cost. It’s all about the content, making sure it’s good, and then how do you retain that customer. What gives you the edge? We’ve seen a lot more emphasis on engagement features that will grow more. ⭐ Technology provides us with a seamless viewing experience. As we’re trying to draw more eyeballs to our content, people are trying to drive their content through multiple devices. ⭐ Ads can be tedious. The only way to make them less tedious is to make them more relevant to the user through contextual data. AI might help us machine learn what the consumer is watching, and help pinpoint that advertising experience. ⭐ I think AI is still immature in video. I don’t think we’ve learned how to effectively use it to make money, but I think that will change.
