I’ve seen brands die because they put all their money into ATL brand first content and wait till they’ve got money to invest in performance and SEO Brand is literally the most expensive channel to invest in as a start up Build performance, get downloads (app) orders. Then ramp up organic to get cost of acquisition down. Then brand. You’re ROI on performance channels should pay for further grow (e.g brand)

There are 3 key reasons we work with brands focused on UGC or those open to this style of content. (Hint: all of them are related to the creatives we see perform well) 1. Messaging angles 2. Content rawness 3. Opportunity to grow Here's why these reasons matter: 1. Wide-net messaging angles 20 minds are greater than one. When you're using seeding and sourcing UGC/CGC (customer generated content), you're collecting unique content from customers/influencers with unique networks, perspectives, and styles. Making ads only your marketing team or boss likes is not the same thing as your customer. 2. Content authenticity Human-forward content is the outcome of product seeding (along with UGC/CGC). Content created by people outside of the brand feels more raw or "authentic." It's never that brand-first content can't perform well — human-forward content simply tends to perform better more often. 3. Opportunity to grow Brand-first content is the most challenging/time-intensive to produce. By nature, UGC/CGC and product seeding for IGC is like outsourcing content creation. This offers a greater opportunity to scale without inflated costs. Unpopular opinion: Start running ads to acquire clients before using social media. Ads are unforgiving; they force you to be concise with your messaging and test variations until you get it to work. Then take that messaging and funnel and explode it through social media.

Don't count out the microinfluencers! They often have a much more targeted audience than a big celebrity. Read this example to make it crystal clear. Say you are a brand that sells supplements that enhance your workout recovery. Option One: You have a celebrity with a 2 million following who talks about all different things, and may talk about working out every couple of months. People are mostly following him or her because they like their movies, TV show, podcast, sport, etc. VS. Option Two: A microinfluencer with 15K following who ONLY talks about their fitness regimen. They post daily workouts and the nutrition/supplements they use to fuel those workouts. Their audience is people that are interested in getting fit, training for bodybuilding competitions, and athletic trainers. THIS is why celebrity campaigns often aren't worth the price tag.

“TikTok Shop cheapens a brand” This is a something I hear a lot. But in reality, TikTok Shop can actually be a powerful tool for strengthening a brand. It all comes down to strategy. Here's my take: ✅ Focus on quality over quantity. TikTok may suggest posting 20 times a day, but what good is a viral video if it doesn't align with your brand values? ⭐️ Be selective with partnerships and ensure creators authentically represent your brand > > Make sure they actually like your products! 🎥 Same goes for live streams, they can enhance your brand and establish a sense of community if done right. No need for screaming “Buy This! Buy That” every two seconds. Leave that for the cheap stuff. So, does TikTok Shop cheapen a brand? What do you think? 🤔
