Valid points and influencers, like everything else, have a time and place. If you have a million followers and only one customer, is it worth the effort and investment? Side note: Yesterday, I enjoyed speaking to two Brandon's (from different companies). Both were amazing, helpful, and great, and I am profoundly grateful for their guidance and offers of help. I'm not sure what I think of influencers on social media to be straight up. I've seen some influencer marketing around me for some things and part of it seemed a bit weird to see that person post about that topic. Done right, I am sure that it is beneficial but it seems to me like their needs be a natural fit between the influencer and the brand they are representing.
