You're leading a diverse large group. How can you combat biases to foster trust?
I am a metaphorical container, embracing the group in a big, warm hug. Just the other day, I had two people at seeming odds with each other. One was grounded on his way. The other grounded on their way. Showing empathy and listening deeply for both, for overarching themes that can serve to unite not divide, a facilitator can create a space of alignment and differentiation.

Here's how you can effectively delegate tasks to remote team members.
1. Make sure to have built a relationship. No relationship, it's unclear your delegation will be successful. 2. When delegating, be sure to check with them individually on schedule constraints. You have less visibility to big projects, local holidays and other matters. You are giving them agency with this. 3. Ask what other support they may need. You are making them feel supported and seen. 4. Wait. Do not micro-manage. Expect them to meet the targets you agreed upon. If you don't know what they are, then you may need to go back to step 1.

We are a national movement to bridge the partisan divide.
We are equally balanced between conservatives and progressives at every level of leadership. We work in communities, on college campuses, in the media, and in the halls of political power. Our strength comes from our members and most of our work is done by patriotic volunteers.

"We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
"The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion."

Beating the Odds shares the challenges and triumphs of women in STEM and the often frustrating barriers they face in the workplace. Barriers that those of us — women and men — who support their advancement are all too familiar with.
These are the experiences, in their own words, of female engineers and scientists who beat the odds to advance to director, vice president, or C-level engineering, technical, and scientific positions.Other authorsSee publication -
Effectiveness of Collaboration
Spain
For this collection Kelly Simmons and I wrote a chapter titled "My Team, My System" which looks at a team as a human system. We discuss the different mental models that people use to understand human systems, in particular the "machine" mental model and the "living system" mental model. We then discuss the impact of these different mental models on the ways in which the team members work together.
