Last week I wrote about the importance of celebrating the wins. So I had to share this one - excuse the dodgy home printing whilst I wait for the "real" certificate, but a real achievement all the same 😍 👇 🎖 I'm now a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF)🎖 What does that mean? Well, it represents: ➡500+ client coaching hours ➡175+ hours of intensive studying📚 ➡Peer coaching💡and mentoring👩🎓 ➡Live coaching observations ➡A 3 hour exam🧠 😱 But it's so much more than that. For me, what it really represents is a: ➡Commitment to ongoing training and development. To that end I have my own coach, engage regularly in supervision and in fact I'm currently training as a coach supervisor myself so the learning continues alongside the continuing professional education I need to do to maintain this PCC status. ➡Belief in the value of professionalising coaching as an industry: as an ex-chartered accountant I know how important professional standards are, and the ICF "badge" is a marker of this at a time when coaching is a rapidly growing industry that isn't regulated so that anyone can call themselves a coach. And most importantly of all, for you as clients, or potential clients, it's a way of knowing I'm: ➡Highly trained - to put in context, there are under 1,200 PCC level coaches in the UK ➡Very experienced with a lot of coaching hours ➡Committed to continuing to learn so that I can serve you best Because at the end of the day, for me it's all about being the best coach I can to best support my clients 💪 Talking of support, a massive shout out to Ruth Kudzi, MCC who runs OPTIMUS COACH ACADEMY who I trained with. was asked by a CEO once if a self-proclaimed non-certified coach based merely on life experience is ‘sufficient and legitimate’ enough. Whether coaching should be certified depends on various factors, including the context in which coaching is being utilised and the expectations of clients or employers. What’s most important is that a good coach holds a sacred space of trust and love for the client to unlock their full potential, overcome obstacles and attain sustainable personal and professional growth. Having said that, a baseline that a professional certification ensures is continuous learning, practice and supervision as part of the credentialing process for quality, consistency, ethics and recourse by client. This is paramount given the intimacy and impact of a coaching relationship. Why she continues to stay on the credentialling pathway even as a ‘part time’ coach for select clients who come to her for executive and life coaching. This is her second renewal as a Professional Certified Coach after achieving her PCC status in 2017, and ACC prior. Was asked to consider moving on to the Master Certified Coach next, having coached over 2000 hours (MCC requires 2500!) since she was called to coaching to hold space for those who wish to be at peace with who they truly to thrive and be the best version of themselves without needing to go through the excruciating pain she did to awaken to her purpose. Credentialing keeps her honest, and humble with the rigorous continuing education process of maintaining the core competencies especially ethical standards. It also keeps her in the joy of learning as well as peer and coaching support. So she can continue to hold love for another human to know that when their mind can conceive it and their heart can believe it, then they can achieve it. Change is a conscious choice. 🙏🏽❤️

Create a coaching offer that actually solves a problem for your Ideal Client. Here’s how our coaching business solves problems… 1. Coach Training - To get an ICF credential, you have to do coach-specific coach education. We provide ICF accredited coach education to our students. We solve that problem. 2. Mentor Coaching - To get an ICF credential or renew a credential, you have to complete mentorship hours. We provide mentorship hours to our students. We solve that problem. 3. Coach Education Hours - To renew an ICF credential, you have to complete 40 hours of continuing coach education hours. We provide an ICF accredited continuing coach education program to our students. We solve that problem. Our Ideal Client is someone who wants to become a Coach and is interested in being credentialed through the ICF. Your Ideal Client may be different. Figure out the actual problems or creations that your person wants to engage and create offers from there. Think of trainings your people need. Think of mentoring your people need. Think of cces your people need. These topics could also be coaching topics that you support. Be someone who helps your people solve the problems they are looking to solve or to create what they truly want to be creating. We do both. We help people become Coaches which is something they really want and we help solve the problem of meeting the requirements to become an ICF Coach.

Joined the International Coaching Federation ACC program offered by Coach Srikanthan in September 2023 to understand first hand on how Indic Wisdom can be seamlessly integrated into Coaching Competencies. As Coach had already agreed to be the mentor of this program, and I had already waited for more than a decade to offer an integrated program in these lines, it made no sense to wait till my ACC. Right from the time I met April strong in 2023, it became clear that she would be the Co-Facilitator whenever this integration program takes off. April comes with 15+ years of experience in Training, Coaching and Mentoring professionals & entrepreneurs in multicultural environments across Countries. Apart from a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Masters in Management, she had right certifications - ICF (ACC), NLP, Facili-training and Public Speaking, Lakshan hosted us on 12th April 2024 to the Masterclass on Integrating Coaching Competencies with Indic Wisdom. Since the mid-2000's, I have been fortunate to interact with scores of people across continents and be part of their journey of self-discovery. Little I knew that a majority of those conversations were bordering on a unique blend of Coaching and Teaching. The ACC training helped to separate Coaching and Teaching roles distinctly through the opportunities I utilized as a Coachee in many crucial conversations and also a few conversations as a Coach. Now when April and I launched the cohort on April 27th, by Divine Grace we got registrations from 2 CXOs’, 4 ICF Coaches, 2 Entrepreneurs and 1 non-ICF Coach. What started as a 9 week cohort ends as a 10 week cohort on 29th June to fulfill the 20 hours CCE requirement as well as to ensure organic completion of the studies as per our vision, for the participants. For the 7th July start cohort we already have 4 registrations: 1 ICF Coach, 1 Senior Leader, 2 Researchers on Vedic Studies & Coaching. If you are a ICF (PCC or MCC) then you could consider this for your required CCE! This program can be not only an opportunity to deepen your Coaching or Leading or Entrepreneurship skills but also the most cost effective way to pursue the Portfolio path to ICF credentialing.
