The late-stage tech capital markets are heating up again. 🔥 My thoughts below: After a long winter, we're seeing clear signals that late-stage capital is making a strong comeback. Three milestones from this week: 1. ServiceTitan's very strong IPO, trading at 10x+ revenue with overwhelming investor demand. One of its board members said she has received many text messages from other VC's saying the outcome opens up the window for more IPOs (per CNBC). 2. Databricks just shattered records with their massive $9.5B fundraise, including a secondary component (per TechCrunch). 3. Anecdotally, I'm now regularly meeting with growth-stage CFOs who are successfully closing rounds. What makes this particularly exciting? Throughout 2023-24, late-stage funding was largely frozen (excluding a handful of AI companies), with most capital flowing to the early-stage market. But the tide is turning. These outcomes validate the venture capital thesis – when exits like ServiceTitan deliver billion-dollar returns to investors like ICONIQ Capital (per CNBC), it reinforces venture capital as a compelling asset class for limited partners in VC funds. This capital recycles back into the venture ecosystem. A growing number of our customers are planning to go public on Campfire, and I'm thrilled that our platform received an initial approval for IPO readiness from a SOX / internal auditor. My prediction: 2025 will be a breakthrough year for both M&A and IPOs. The window is open again. Thoughts?
