"Our goal is to make it so that every material can be sourced in a way that is regenerative, that it's done in a way that creates local jobs, and it's done just as efficiently, if not more efficiently, than it is done today." - Ben Christensen Check out our founders Ben and Theo Hooker sharing more on our American innovation, Carbon Smart Wood™ on NBCUniversal for the Macy's Fireworks special. We also have to shoutout to FYI and Music Not Impossible for the life changing innovations they are working on. All of us are working hard to do our part to make this world a better place. #MacysFireworks #AmericanInnovation #Sustainability #CarbonSmartWood #Cambium #ClimateAction #Innovation

We were heartbroken to hear about the devastating fire at Camp Small, a beacon of sustainability in Baltimore and a model for cities nationwide. Camp Small is more than a wood recycling program, it’s a symbol of what’s possible when we rethink waste as a resource. Programs like this turn fallen trees into valuable products like mulch, firewood, and premium lumber (or what we know as Carbon Smart Wood™), saving cities money, creating local jobs, and supporting urban sustainability. At Cambium, we’ve worked closely with operations like Camp Small because they show how circular systems can transform urban wood waste into materials that are good for people, cities, and the planet. Events like this fire remind us why these efforts are critical for environmental sustainability and in building resilience in our communities. As the City of Baltimore begins the road to recovery for Camp Small, we are here to support and to continue to advocate for the innovative work that makes our cities stronger and more sustainable. Decarbonizing the Built Environment: Key Insights from our Climate Group NYC Climate Week Event Today, we had the opportunity to host a powerful discussion on how we can work to decarbonize the built environment—an urgent and complex challenge facing the construction industry. Our Co-founder and CEO, Ben Christensen kicked us off with a key question to group: “If you had $100 million to decarbonize the built environment, how would you allocate it?” The conversation, featuring insights from Julia Gisewite, LEED AP, WELL AP, Chief Sustainability Officer at Turner Construction Company and Jack Rusk, Cofounder at C.Scale. Here are our 5 key takeaways on the problem and the huge opportunity ahead of us: 1️⃣ Early decision-making is essential—The importance of making sustainable choices early in the build project lifecycle cannot be overstated. Missed opportunities can be hard to recover later. 2️⃣ Data-driven supply chains—With $1.3 trillion spent annually on construction materials, the potential for emissions reductions through smarter, data-driven decisions is enormous. 3️⃣ Cost and timeline parity—Sustainable materials need to match traditional options in both cost and timing for widespread adoption. 4️⃣ The power of policy—Compliance is a powerful driver of change. Real-time data on materials can streamline compliance and prevent costly mistakes. 5️⃣ Circular economy opportunities—By using waste materials in construction, we not only reduce waste but also create a new economy that benefits both people and the planet. At Cambium, we commit every day to bringing innovative solutions like Carbon Smart Wood™ and simplified supply chains to life to drive the change needed in our industry. Thanks to everyone who showed up today. The solutions happen when we connect the dots across industry and today was an exciting moment for that. Read more on the discussion over at https://lnkd.in/e8Vsfi38 And a huge thank you to J.M.
