THE COVID PANDEMIC
I
n March of 2020, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit our entire world with a vengeance never before seen by a mutating virus. And one of its fundamental change impacts on humanity, was that we began to change where we work, the way we work and the way we interact with each other Professionally as well as Socially.
After the Covid Pandemic died down and folks were allowed to get back to working in communal offices, 20% of the people who were supposed to go back to the office, didn’t!
This worldwide phenomena was partially due to employers realizing that in the 2 years that their employees were working from home, they were as or more productive then when they had previously been while working in the communal office.
As well, employers would save a ton of money by allowing their employees to continue to work from home, since they no longer had to pay for office space which made this a win-win situation for employers.
And employees were just as thrilled to be working from home for many reasons, one being the less-stress
environment of their home.
Another, was not having somebody physically
looking over their shoulder throughout their workday.
And those employers who, after the Covid pandemic, refused to continue to allow their employees to work from home, were notified by their employees that they were terminating their service to these employers, (thus effectively firing
their employers).
In fact, employees were firing their bosses on a much more frequent basis than bosses were firing their employees!
And these newly empowered work from home only
employees were then easily able to find work in jobs that would allow them to continue to work exclusively from their homes, since other employers were in desperate need of manpower due to a good % of their workers quitting after covid, and were also well aware that (for the reasons I described a moment ago), hiring home-only
employees was in their best interest.
And so, this paradigm shift in the labor market resulted in the lowest worldwide unemployment rate since WorldWar2!
And at the end of this human tragedy, the Covid-19 pandemic turned out to be a major and permanent professional & social lifestyle change for millions of people across the globe.
And as an unintended consequence, the aftermath of Covid-19 as well resulted in the tremendous and rapid rise of people around the globe truly beginning to live in a FaceTime Relationship World!
THE RYDAN PANDEMIC
In June of 2030, the world was once again struck by a pandemic, this one called Rydan and this one very different from all others before it.
Rydan is a deadly and unimaginably devastating virus, which has taken the lives of millions of people over the course of several years and is still as of this writing taking to their graves countless more.
Originating in India, the virus has earned the nickname Satan’s Virus
or Satan’s Contagion
due to the widespread devastation it has brought upon humanity.
The Rydan virus, named after the unique mutation it carries, has proven itself to be the deadliest virus in recorded human history.
It has (as of this writing), claimed the lives of over 600 million people globally, continues to cause five million deaths annually, and has surpassed any previous pandemic in its scale of destruction.
What has made Rydan particularly horrifying is not only the sheer number of casualties it has claimed but as well, the excruciatingly agonizing suffering it inflicts upon its victims, unlike anything witnessed in prior viral outbreaks or pandemics.
The anguish before death is particularly severe for individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes, as their compromised immune systems make them more vulnerable to the virus’s devastating effects.
The Rydan virus poses a significant challenge to scientists as it has thus far, resisted all attempts at eradication, leaving governments with no choice but to focus on controlling its impact and minimizing casualties.
To this end, the United States government has implemented several measures in order to curtail its spread.
One of their key initiatives being the introduction of mandatory Digital Health Tags (DHTs) and Health Screenings.
These tags have to be carried and made available for inspection by police in public places such as parks, concerts, public buildings, stores and anywhere else the public normally congregates.
And folks have become quite inventive
at concealing or disguising their Health Tags, by placing them on shoes, backpacks, and even tattooing
