About us

Arts House Limited (AHL) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring and enriching lives through the transformative power of the arts. We proudly organise two flagship national festivals: the Singapore International Festival of Arts, a celebration of the local and international performing arts, and the Singapore Writers Festival, a multilingual festival presenting the world's leading literary talents. At the heart of AHL's mission are six arts spaces designed to support our vibrant arts sector and forge connections within communities. It includes two national monuments—The Arts House, multidisciplinary arts centre, and Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall, a heritage building that is home to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. AHL also runs the Drama Centre, a dedicated performing arts space, as well as three creative enclaves for arts groups and innovative enterprises: the Goodman Arts Centre, Aliwal Arts Centre, and Stamford Arts Centre. Established in 2002 as The Old Parliament House Limited, AHL transitioned to its current identity as Arts House Limited in 2014. As a public company limited by guarantee under the National Arts Council, we remain steadfast in our mission to champion the arts as a powerful force for positive change. • Proudly presented by Arts House Limited and commissioned by the National Arts Council, the 27th edition of the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) was held from 8 to 17 November 2024. Marking Festival Director Yong Shu Hoong’s first year at the helm of the Festival, SWF 2024 concluded on a high note, captivating audiences with a diverse array of literary events.     The Festival offered over 220 programmes across 14 venues, bringing together more than 480 local and international voices. As part of the theme In Our Nature, the programmes explored the themes of identity, history, and the environment through a literary lens. SWF 2024 also embraced creative intersections between literature and other fields and brought writers from different cultures and backgrounds together on the same stage. This created more avenues for diverse audiences to relate to the Festival and find meaning in the power of the written and spoken word.    As the curtain falls, the Festival leaves behind rich dialogues, literary connections, and moments of discovery that will continue to resonate. Festivalgoers can mark their calendars for SWF 2025, which will take place from 7 to 16 November 2025 with the forward-looking theme of “Shape of Things to Come”. This is in line with Singapore’s celebration of SG60 – a theme that lets us embrace a future of change and uncertainty with hope and cautious optimism, while being informed by the wisdom of the past.    Read more at: https://lnkd.in/g4NgT8ys   #SWF2024 #sgwritersfest #InOurNature #SWFforALL #OurSGArts

  • As part of Arts House Limited (AHL)’s leadership development, Boon Ping Oh (Director/Finance) and JunMin Ye (Deputy Director/Festivals, Programming & Producing) attended the 7th Cultural Leadership Programme (CLP) milestone programme, alongside other fellow leaders from the arts and culture sector.    Both of them reflected on their intensive and invigorating 9-day programme filled with engaging panels and inspiring guest speakers. Some of the key themes included self-awareness and self-management, which were crucial for building social and relationship capital. Participants from various organisations shared their perspectives, underscoring the value of learning from one another and collaborating to co-create a thriving arts and culture scene.   Additionally, they also embarked on an enriching study trip to Seoul. Some of the highlights included an insightful dialogue with the Singapore Ambassador in Korea and inspiring visits to the LG Arts Centre, Leeum, and Samsung Museum of Art!   Kudos to our leaders for their continuous growth and dedication to advancing the arts and culture landscape. 🎉   #LeadershipDevelopment #ArtsAndCulture #AHL #ProfessionalGrowth #SeoulTrip

  • What an incredible day out it was for Arts House Limited (AHL), where we all came together to collaborate and share laughs at our recent team bonding day, themed “One AHL Team, One AHL Dream”. As we strengthened our bonds as one AHL team, the session was not just about the fun but also about reinforcing the importance of Communication, Collaboration & Teamwork, Adapting with Agility and Problem-solving & Thinking Insightfully — which are some of our AHL core competencies that drive our success at AHL. By working together across different departments, we continue to build a stronger, more unified organisation where everyone’s contributions matter, echoed by both our Executive Director, Sharon Tan & our Director, HRIT, Isniati Ali. The hilarious Human Bingo ice breaker game (thanks to the sporting nature of everyone), creative Fun City team bonding activity and the teamwork showcasing AHL’s great energy and enthusiasm truly made the event a success. Let’s continue to carry forward the spirit of collaboration and unity in everything we do. Here’s to more shared successes ahead! 🚀 #TeamAHL #Collaboration #Teamwork #Success #OneAHL
