As a result of continued skill-oriented hiring, early turnover increased and employees became one... Yuhei Shibata (hereinafter “Shibata”) In 2022, we were hiring at such a rapid pace that the number of employees doubled in six months. However, at that time, too much emphasis was placed on skills, which resulted in a mismatch with the culture, and many employees left early. Four years ago, there was a time when there were only two employees, myself as president and an employee who is now a board member, and we were running the business with about 10 outsourced members. The hiring process and criteria were not clear, and the corporate culture was not well articulated, so the image of the people we were hiring was unclear. As a result, we often proceeded with hiring based on momentum alone, which resulted in failure. Based on this reflection, we now have a well-defined recruitment flow, stance, and the type of person we are looking for. For example, we conduct at least two interviews for applicants with any conditions, and at least two members of the team always participate in the first interview. And, of particular importance, we always provide an internship period. During the internship period, I personally conduct an interview once a month to check the suitability of the applicant. This prevents a mismatch between recruitment and culture, and ensures that the right people fit into the organization. In the hiring process, we conduct the first and second interviews very quickly, but we realize that it is difficult to make a hiring decision unless there is a certain level of agreement on values, corporate culture, and what the candidate wants to do after working together for about six months. Our work is extremely hard work. It's not just that we work long hours; we have to use our brains quite a bit, and we have to create a lot of materials. Also, since marketing is an important business for our clients, which supports the foundation of their sales, we sometimes receive strict demands. If you do not have the mindset to withstand such an environment, there are many tough situations. For this reason, we give priority to hiring people who have the right mindset rather than the right skills.

The most important thing as a leader is to keep the ego in check Let me be very honest: There are days in the company when we work on projects where I don't like the details. For example: - The text of the new website - The structure of our new IT system - The process of our new customer service Does that mean we don't implement the projects because I don't want it? Absolutely not! I mean, why did we hire a copywriter or designer if I then explain their work to them? Can I do it better than they can? No, otherwise, I would be doing the job myself. So, it's necessary to step back and trust my employees. That means to be ready not only to share the stage. But to leave it entirely. Letting go of the ego is the most important step. Because a strong team is the result of leadership that puts the ego aside. And believe me, that is WAY easier said than done. But the inner work is worth doing. Day after day. PS: How do you manage to keep your ego in check in everyday work life?

📝 Contact details in your CV - looks easy enough, right? Just put your name, phone and e-mail, that’s all. Well…. yes ✅ and no ❌ I always recommend also including your location. In today's world, where: 💻 Some people work completely remotely ✈ Others choose to relocate to another country 🏡 Others want to work in hybrid at their place of residence This information can be very important and useful. That’s why I recommend writing down: 🏙 your city (there’s no need to write the full address 😉) 🌍country (especially if you are applying for studios abroad) ☑ your preferences (hybrid, remote work, relocation) Also, it may sound obvious, but ALWAYS CHECK IF YOUR E-MAIL ✉ AND PHONE NUMBER 📞 ARE CORRECT (even a few times!!!) I can’t count how many times I couldn’t reach out to a candidate. Incorrect e-mail with return mail, number not available. I put an extra mile and tried to find them on Linkedin, but it wasn’t successful in many cases… So please check this info, because you can miss the opportunity of lifetime. 🎨 Don’t forget to give a link to your portfolio, own website or other places where recruiters & hiring leads/managers can see your work. 🔝 Last but not least - all of this information should be visible and at the top of your resume. Often the best option is to put them next to your name. I hope that these few thoughts would be useful for you! Check the slideshow below to see some examples. Our Recruitment & Employer Branding team at 11 bit studios S.A. decided to spread some tips & tricks for CVs, to help you increase your chances of landing a job! 🤔What are the main skills teams often look for when hiring candidates for fast-growing startups? I always hear requests for the following 6: ✅Proactivity. The priority skill I always hear from the clients is that a person must be proactive and willing to take initiative. The startup environment is the most suitable for self-starters who can spot opportunities and take chances. ✅Adaptability. Startups have the freedom to change their course, product, or operations "overnight". Teams need candidates who can pivot, learn new skills, and stay flexible. ✅Growth Mindset. It's not just about eagerness to learn and develop, but also being open to feedback and willing to take corrective actions. ✅Resilience. In the fast work environment, setbacks and failures are inevitable. The most suitable candidates can recover quickly from failures and keep their focus on solutions. ✅Communication. Working in a small team requires communicating more often with more people across the departments to get things done. It requires a certain level of courage and the ability to communicate thoughts clearly. ✅Tech Savviness. Lately, it has become a must-have even for more established companies. With technology entering across all the fields, it's impossible to simply skip it. It’s not just about knowing how to use technology but also being comfortable with learning new digital tools and staying updated on industry trends. Would you like to work in a startup or you prefer a big, stable company? Let me know in the comments!🙌🏻 #startup #hiring #job #jobsearch #recruitment #recruiting #hr #humanresources #toptalent

One of the Employer of Record platform has acquired a global IT Devices management platform, if you read. Why would I care? #EOR is basically something we at Mobilunity | Dedicated Development Teams do - except for the few matters: - Mobilunity does more than standard EOR offers, as our services always include Recruitment, HR, Delivery co-management, office, and, of course, IT Devices management globally, along with IT Helpdesk on top of it - doing some Nx more, we typically charge more (not Nx though) EOR is a wonderful and perfect sight on the problem (typically American) clients are having - engaging the talent globally. Fast, compliant, and all that jazz. Still, leaving the client with everything else needed to get most of the value #Global #Development #Teams models require. That platform I mentioned was one of the pioneers in their domain, and no wonder they seek for extending their offering from legal/payrolling into something having higher value. So while the competition (between models) might become more tough, I am happy realizing we are often few steps ahead feeling the need from the clients we work with, and continuing developing new services that others might not yet have at their hand. What sort of non-native competitors are you watching on your end?

⭐ Successful story Time ⭐ Recently, I hear a lot about lack of open opportunities for Juniors and for people in early stage of their careers. I feel like situation has changed a lot in the past few years, and seems that nowadays companies are focusing on building teams full of Seniors. Which is strange, as there is so many benefits in well structured teams... but that's a topic for another time. Here at N-able Poland, we opened Summer Internship Program and brought onboard 4 passionate young individuals. From day one we fully integrated them into our cross-functional teams. Each one had his own Manager and also a Mentor to guide, support and help to make the most out of their time with us. As they are absolutely fantastic and did such a great job during their Internship - We didn't think twice - 🚀 We hired all 4 of them! 🚀 After their Internship, Jakub Stacherski, Piotr Padamczyk, Kyrylo Vorobiov and Michał Szeląg officially joined as Associate Software Engineers, kicking of their careers and #njoythejourney with N-able 😎 It makes me even prouder to know how many of such amazing stories we have here! Starting with amazing Barys Barysenka who joined as an Intern 6 years ago and is now their Mentor (!) or Vladislav Chekharev who started as an Intern and over 10 years later, he is still here and doing great as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and many more. I have no doubts that with their sharp minds and fresh ideas they will #Nrichlives and #Nspireothers! #CoveDataProtection #Nrich #Nspire #Njoy #softwareengineer #dreamteam

"Let AI take over the #ORDINARY, so we are left with the #EXTRAORDINARY". On a Monday morning, the first post I saw when I opened LinkedIn was by Joanna Maciejewska: "I want AI to do my laundry and dishes, so that I can do art and writing." It struck me as both amusing and deeply insightful. We’ve entered an era where #ArtificialIntelligence is becoming our silent partner in countless ways, yet we still haven’t let it fully step into the spaces that drain our #time and #creativity. Imagine this: AI handles your laundry, dishes, emails, and schedules. What’s left for you? The real stuff—#CREATING, #INNOVATING, #REFLECTING. The issue isn’t that AI isn’t capable; it’s that we haven’t fully embraced its potential. I think the the future isn't about humans being more #productive, but about humans being more #creative, #thoughtful, and #inspired! #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Creativity #Innovation #Automation #Humans #Reflection #Mundanetasks #IT #Technology Delta Technology and Management Services Pvt. 👉 Greenfield project with new technologies, great manager, and supporting community – this is what we have for Go Developers in Łódź, Wrocław, and Kraków now! 👈 Want to make investing as easy as spending money? We are starting a project for one of our European clients who has taken this as their mission. Your future direct manager will be ANDREI Liahovich, an experienced leader with a programming background that you'll find irresistible! As he underlines: "This is a greenfield project, the first solution of its kind in Europe. The client is working to simplify investments for their users. Our experts will work closely with the client's team, and what's most attractive for candidates is that they won't be working with legacy code. They'll be creating solutions from scratch with a modern technology stack!" What's more, at Vention, we have an international community of specialists who not only use Go in their work but also actively promote this technology among their colleagues. For example, Mihail Gorelikov, our Golang Software Engineer, has been working with this language for 4 years and shares his experience and knowledge through our mentorship program and the EDU initiative. Here's what he says about it: "I work on fintech projects and actively develop our training program for new developers, as well as prepare materials for more experienced colleagues so that everyone can discover something new in the world of Go. It's great that in our company, we have the opportunity to share knowledge and join communities based on shared interests." Want to know more? DM me or follow the link in the comments!

This is my first post here and it's in English, sometimes I will write here something using Ukrainian and English! I wanna talk about English! English is international language and can open the doors to many job opportunities, as a Talent Sourcer I am constantly looking for candidates with proficiency in the language. But what happens when you have the knowledge but you haven't practiced it for a long time and you have it "rusty"? ▶ I'm going to share some websites so that you can practice interviews in English for free or at a low cost: 📌 Interview Warmup This free tool developed by Google allows you to practice job interviews in English using artificial intelligence. It also gives you feedback on your pronunciation, fluency and answers. Link: https://lnkd.in/giqXfMDq 📌 Big interview: This platform gives you access to a library of interview questions and answers, as well as mock interviews with personalized feedback. Link: https://lnkd.in/dPwn8zcR 📌 Mock Interview: This website allows you to practice job interviews in English with experienced volunteers. Link: https://lnkd.in/gfi9c-_3 Let me know if it was usefull and maybe you have some another platforms to add!

👩🏼💻 Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted here. Time to change that. I want to share my thoughts about people who are either looking for their first job in IT or those who, with lots of experience in their current field, have decided to switch to something new, not necessarily IT. 👩🏼⚕️ I remember how I felt when I got hired by a great company without any experience. It was an entry-level job where, besides answering calls, I had to quickly and correctly serve coffee to the founder. The salary was low, around $50. But I was HAPPY, because I saw it as the start of my career and was ready to work my way up from scratch. Of course, I sometimes thought that serving coffee wasn't what I studied for. BUT!!! I asked myself, how can I be useful to the company at the start? - Not much, I had to learn how to answer calls and just how to work in general. 📍 So, now after conducting over 1,000 interviews, I see that the second group of people, switchers, clearly know what they want to achieve and are more flexible about starting salaries. On the other hand, university graduates, without any experience often don't like the idea of starting with a low salary. 📍 Both groups have no experience, so it might seem like they're in the same boat with the same chances of getting a job, but that's not true. 📍 Let's look at the pros and cons of each group: 1️⃣ The first group is college graduates, aged 20-25. They really want to start earning money right away but lack life experience and basic work skills, both in terms of processes and interacting with people. Often, their English isn't great. They need to be taught everything, and thoroughly. You could throw them in the deep end to see if they get out, but you probably won't like the outcome. 🙂 2️⃣ The second group has years of work behind them, life experience, kids, elderly parents, and a sense of responsibility. They are 30-40+ years old. They know what they can handle in stressful situations and how to communicate with people. They have a good understanding of themselves, and they’re highly motivated to put aside their past achievements and learn new things. Yes, you might say, "But the brain ages." I don't deny that, but from birth everyone has different abilities, ambitions, opportunities, and life circumstances for achieving their goals. 👩🏼💻 I have come to the conclusion that both groups can benefit a company, depending on the specific position, soft skills, and your business development strategy. What do you think?
