When you are trying to sort through if you should deploy AI in your company, one of the greatest opportunities is to really dig in and understand how your employees get things done. Finding those pain points that hide in plain sight is critical to the successful adoption of AI. This step of the process will take time if done correctly. It involves a lot of discussion and documentation, but is so enlightening. Remember that starting small with one department or process is the most effective and efficient way to begin. Throwing the entire company into navel gazing is too disruptive.

One of our biggest challenges is going to be how can we empower our SMEs to profit from the use of AI. While more and more are starting to apply AI, many are still struggling when it comes to value creation and extraction. A lot still seem overwhelmed and are unsure where to start. This is why I have teamed up with baiosphere on a project called #AICompass, an easy understandable guy with the most important topics on AI. Last Friday we had our kick off meeting and presentation with network partners to push the compass once it will be finished. At the same time I have been working quite intensively with a lot of SMEs on the easy and cost effective adoption of AI. Because you do not need a big team or spend a lot of money to start your AI journey. If you are interested. Let’s have a chat.

I have a challenge for anyone looking to leverage AI to improve productivity. Start with improving productivity without AI. If you can't, you can start there before talking about AI. Learn the basics of your teams' work, the processes and workflows they're involved with, and the outcomes they are responsible for. Then, discover opportunities for improvement. Even then, you must still analyze if the improvement is worth the effort to implement it. If you give people back time, how will they use it? Will they do "more" or return to parts of their job they've never had time to do? The problems I see with using AI for productivity have little to do with AI and more to do with expectations around productivity.

Great summary here about how all teams, especially the data professionals, should understand the current state of their processes. This allows us to champion methodical and structured approaches for adding AI into workflows. AI solutions are bound to generalize and tend to augment not just the positive aspects of a process, but also the very negative inefficiencies your teams may not even be aware exist. Use AI as an enhancement to things that are already rooted and proven. This way the question of "How can we implement AI with this process?" is not so much of a mystery.

A 4-Step Guide Struggling to get the most out of your AI assistant? You're not alone. Many people find AI tools challenging to use effectively. But with the right approach, AI can take your productivity to the next level. I recently had an enlightening chat with my colleague Josh about how to optimize AI interactions. He shared some great insights that anyone can apply. Josh explained that AI works best when you provide clear, structured prompts. Don't treat it like a human - be as direct and specific as possible. He also emphasized the importance of iterative refinement through feedback loops. Ask follow-up questions and offer corrections to improve its responses over time. Follow these 4 steps to boost your AI assistant's value: 1. Frame prompts clearly and directly 2. Start with simple, straightforward requests 3. Provide feedback to refine and tailor its responses 4. Engage in an ongoing dialogue to improve its knowledge With the right techniques, you can get so much more out of your AI. Try Josh's 4-step approach to unlock its full potential! Can the AI chatbot be more than just a Q&A machine? Can AI challenge the way humans think? Is AI a sparring partner? We want to open the floor to more perspectives on whether you think AI is overhyped or not. - Join the conversation and comment below 👇
