In her opening monologue, the "Hot Girl Summer" singer and awards show host appeared in a patriotic, one-shoulder bodysuit that channeled the Olympics and name-checked Simone Biles. Her VMAs hosting gig comes not long after her Hot Girl Summer Tour wrapping up overseas in July. She also released her third album, titled MEGAN on June 28. Days after the album drop, she opened the BET Awards by hatching out of a giant egg onstage. Megan also stars in a Pepsi commercial with Josh Allen and Travis Kelce that dropped earlier this month ahead of the 2024-2025 NFL Season. "A Pepsi commercial is such a huge deal," she told PEOPLE about the star-studded ad.
