Zoë Kravitz Reacts to Dad Lenny Kravitz Working Out in Leather Pants: 'He Does His Thing, Man'

Zoë Kravitz's dad works out in leather pants. Is that weird?

During Kravitz's appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Aug. 22 to promote her new movie Blink Twice, host Jimmy Fallon asked the actor-turned-filmmaker for her take on an April 9 video her father Lenny Kravitz shared on TikTok showing him wearing leather pants and a mesh shirt during a heavy workout at the gym.

"This is — is this not — this isn't how everyone's dad works out?" Zoë, 35, responded. "I was today years old when I learned that wasn't how everyone's dad works out. You know, he just — he does his thing man, he's pulling it off, I don't know."

Lenny's TikTok video went so viral after he published it in April — the app indicates it has received 45.5 million views since then — that his daughter explained she actually decided to put it in Blink Twice during one of the movie's early scenes.

"There's a part at the beginning of the movie where the lead character is looking through social media and we were looking for videos and me and my editor, we put it in as a joke and then we were just like, 'Let's leave it in, that's pretty funny,' " she told Fallon, 49.

Lenny, who shares Zoë with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet, explained why he was working out in leather pants during an interview with Variety published on April 30. “I’m always working out in leather pants or jeans and boots and whatever — if I’m not doing cardio,” he told the outlet. “If I’m doing cardio, obviously I’m going to wear sweats because I’m going to be sweating all over the place. But if I’m lifting weights, I don’t sweat so much.”

“So, a lot of times I’m coming from somewhere or I’m going somewhere. And I just don’t care,” he added. “I’m gonna pop in, I’ve got 45 minutes, we’re gonna hit it and I’m gonna go run to where I’m going. So I don’t do it for effect. I didn’t do that to be like, ‘Oh, let me be just so different and wear leather pants and glasses.’ No, it’s just me walking in off the street.”
