Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley are celebrating another marriage milestone!

The longtime loves, who mark their 31st wedding anniversary on Nov. 13, met on an awkward blind date. The Scarface actress opened up about the experience during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, saying she decided to turn a one-on-one date with Kelley into a group outing. Kelley, then a TV writer, ended up sitting across from her sister, and they “didn’t speak the whole night,” Pfeiffer recalled.

However, the producer recovered by calling her two days later. “And it just went [from] that," she said.

At the time, Pfeiffer was in the process of adopting her daughter, Claudia, and brought her home about two months into dating Kelley.

“I really got to see [David] in a situation that certainly would separate the boys from the men. Obviously, he really rose to the occasion," Pfeiffer revealed to Good Housekeeping in 2007. “I mean, it's a real testament to the kind of person he is, but also to the fact that sometimes the traditional way of doing things isn't always the best way."

"And yet, I value our relationship more than a good part, and I just think it's too risky," she said.
