Both Morris and Hurd successfully completed a parenting seminar as required by Davidson County for all divorce cases involving children. The divorce comes after Morris shared a TikTok video of herself singing Tammy Wynette's country classic "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," including the lyrics, "Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today" in December. Morris also stitched a clip from a wedding ceremony where the groom told the bride, “I promise to smack that ass every chance I get.” The clip had the words, “I would have been a runaway bride,” written over the top. "No, I would like this to sort of wrap up," she said when Stern asked if she was currently dating. "I don't have the headspace for that, but I am writing so much right now. That's kind of been my way of dating, is just through song." The star also admitted that “a lot of people that are close to me have gone through” something similar this year. “I've known so many people that have gone through breakups or divorces," she said. Morris and Hurd first met in 2013 during a songwriting session for Tim McGraw and tied the knot in March 2018 in Nashville after nearly three years of dating. Close
