Nick Cannon Explain Why He Will 'Never' Get Married Again

Nick Cannon loves romance – but you won’t see him walking down the aisle ever again.

“Never,” the 35-year-old America’s Got Talent host told reporters at the Harper’s Bazaar even for Icons by Carine Roitfield (presented by Stella Artois, Laura Mercier and Infor) in New York City on Friday, when asked if he would ever get married again. “That messes everything up. That takes the fairy tale out of it. Cinderella didn’t get married, she just lived happily ever after.”

Cannon was previously married to Mariah Carey, but the couple filed for divorce last January after six years of marriage. They had two children together, 5-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. He told reporters at the event that his kids are the “best part of my life.”

Carey is now engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer.

Cannon has most recently been linked to TLC’s Chilli. Cannon and the singer collaborated in a music video and dating rumors have been swirling ever since. Last month, he joined Chilli and her mother for dinner in Los Angeles.

“We’ve got an amazing music video together,” he told PEOPLE at the event. “And the chemistry is undeniable. I’m telling you, it’s real. I’m having fun she’s having fun.”

But he was not ready to define the relationship. Last month he said, “I would be so lucky to be able to be called ‘dating’ her. This is all new to me. I’m not ready for titles and all that stuff.”

He continued to demur at the event on Friday.

“She’s definitely a romantic,” he said. “That’s what life is about, when you can be in that vibe and embrace one another with no titles. And that’s where it gets too complicated.”
