I’ve been quiet for a while… but I’m excited to finally break the silence.
After an incredible journey with TradeSquare—where we built Australia’s first B2B marketplace, attracted thousands of wholesalers, 25,000 buyers in just 18 months, and secured $28 million from Tiger Global—our hard work paid off. It felt like there was no limit to what we could achieve. But as life often does, the universe had other plans. The global and local economic shifts forced us to pivot and, ultimately, close the chapter on TradeSquare.
There were big wins, but also tough moments—particularly having to let people go as we fought to stay lean and adapt. In July of last year, I officially stepped down as COO with both great achievements and invaluable lessons. But I’ll be honest—it took me time to recover. When you’ve flown so high, the crash can be hard.
But this post isn’t about TradeSquare. It’s about what came next.
After working 60-70 hours a week, suddenly having free time felt… strange. So, I embraced it. I reconnected with myself and, more importantly, with my kids. Being there for every school run, sports practice, and bedtime chat—it’s been incredible. Those who know me understand that I love being in the details, fully involved in the execution. So naturally, I brought that same energy to parenting (maybe a bit too much—my family kindly suggested I find a new “occupation” after a few months, haha!).
And so, I opened myself up to consulting. I had the privilege of working with amazing businesses and leaders, helping them unlock quick wins. But consulting wasn’t enough for me. I missed creating something of my own, driving impact, and seeing ideas brought to life quickly. Frustration crept in when I’d suggest bold ideas, only to see them take too long to materialize or, worse, go unexecuted.
This experience prompted me to reflect deeply—on my career, on what I’ve achieved, and the unique value I bring. I realized there’s a gap in many scaleup businesses today, a gap I’ve naturally filled throughout my journey.
In January, I decided to test something new, an experiment to bridge this gap. Fast forward, and I’m proud to say this experiment has not only been validated but is already delivering meaningful results for my clients.
I’d love to dive deeper into what my new venture is all about… but I promised myself to wake up LinkedIn first and share this journey in chapters, like a story that unfolds over time.
