  • Isn't it ironic to have a law that prohibits ensuring that the creatures around us are fed? Especially creatures who cannot naturally fend for themselves. This is the situation in Phoenix which interestingly shares name with a bird but bans the feedings of birds — pigeons specifically. In case you find yourself in this district of Arizona, remember to beware of feeding the free birds. Or prepare to pay a hefty fine. To stay updated on more laws around the globe, join our community by following our page and also engaging with the posts. #strangelaws #Phoenix #Arizona #pigeons #LawGlobal

  • Who needs stilettos when you can have stability? And what's fashion compared to fortitude? Carmel's heel law prioritizes safety over style. In a world where individuals are encouraged to embrace and express their sense of style, this law seems to be rather prohibitive. On the bright side, it serves as a remarkable way to keep citizens of Carmel in check and avoid harm or damage caused to individuals. In the 21st Century, every passing day we encounter number of women who are working day and night to become independent individuals, but at what cost? The cost that these women have to pay is in the form of lack of security of their jobs and moreover the lack of safety at the workplace. To ensure women’s safety at workplace, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act’ was passed in the year 2013. It was implemented to prevent and protect women from sexual harassment at the workplace and thereby ensure a safe working environment for women. This Act is also known as the POSH Law. This Article by Shreya Chopra talks about how the POSH Law came into existence in India, the current scenario of sexual harassment of women in India and what can we do towards the same. There is a total ban on mounting billboards at any location in the focus country. It's bizarre thinking about how minute this is but if done, it's actually illegal and criminal. This is one of the unique laws we have across the globe. To stay updated on laws that seem strange such as this, stay peeled to LawGlobal Hub for more. #strangelaws #Hawaii #criminal #illegal #LawGlobal

  • On the 24th of July, 2024, the Indian Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) issued a release which stated that; playing sound recordings or musical works does not amount to infringement of copyrights. This is in a bid to resolve the debate between the registered Copyright societied in India and the provisions of the 1957 Copyright Act. This nullifies the demand copyright societies have that a license should be taken by the public or individuals who want to play musical works at weddings. As such, royalties must also be paid to them. What does the law truly say on this matter? Check out this article that exposes us to the developments in India's Intellectual Property landscape.
