Isn't it ironic to have a law that prohibits ensuring that the creatures around us are fed? Especially creatures who cannot naturally fend for themselves. This is the situation in Phoenix which interestingly shares name with a bird but bans the feedings of birds — pigeons specifically. In case you find yourself in this district of Arizona, remember to beware of feeding the free birds. Or prepare to pay a hefty fine. Anyone dealing with #strayanimalmanagement within residential societies? I am very disturbed with the menace caused by cat lovers in the complex who are feeding these stray animals on residential building floors and allowing them to litter or dirty the premises. These animals are also now breeding and growing in numbers. Sometimes the stray cats scare people who are climbing up the stairs. Need your advice. #URGENT #StrayCatManagement

So, Peanut the social media sensation—a squirrel with over 700,000 followers—was essentially executed by our government. Sounds like clickbait, right? But it highlights something concerning: when government gets so delusional that it starts targeting harmless wildlife, we’ve got a problem. The laws are meant to keep people from housing truly dangerous animals—like lions. But here? We’re talking about a squirrel that brought joy to hundreds of thousands online. New York’s wildlife authorities decided Peanut was a threat while criminals walk free on bail. The real issue is New York’s government losing sight of reason. They let serious offenders out on bail, yet kill a squirrel? The problem goes beyond just Peanut; it’s a system that’s soft on crime but targets law-abiding citizens over minor infractions. Today it’s a squirrel—tomorrow, who knows? Time to stop the madness and face reality: a government that’s this out of touch doesn’t serve the people.

The latest episode of #WildHope by HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, "Unleaded," shares the story of the golden eagle. They are one of the largest raptors in North America, but they are threatened by an unlikely poison: lead. Eagles ingest lead accidentally when they scavenge on animal remains left behind by hunters, which are often contaminated by lead bullet fragments. Luckily, there’s a simple solution: switching to lead-free bullets. That’s where Sporting Lead-Free comes in. Their mission is to build a grassroots movement that advocates for lead-free alternatives like copper bullets, while embracing the conservation legacy of the hunting community. After you watch #Unleaded, we invite you to visit https://lnkd.in/eCsndm54 to explore the #EnviroBucket by Citizen Science Community Resources. This kit empowers you to test for toxic chemicals in your soil — including lead — to keep your community healthy.

Aerial tracking captures unfolding drama as hyenas challenge the Tamarind Pack over a freshly killed impala. While dogs are highly-skilled hunters, making a kill is also a dinner bell for other carnivores, making meal time a risky endeavor. Lions and spotted hyenas are much bigger, more dominant competitors to wild dogs, and can often steal their kills and even kill pups and adults. #zcp_org #zcp_zambia #zambiancarnivoreprogramme #wildlifeconservation #nature #natureconservation #conservationinaction #conservationresearch #coexistence #research #zambia #africa #saveanimals #wilddogs #hyena

WOW.😳🦉 I would not want to be an owl's prey. In the video, they say that owls are the only bird of prey that have been recorded to have killed a human... that is crazy! Here are 3 crazy facts that make owls more scary. 1️⃣ Did you know that owls can exert up to 28 pounds of pressure per square inch with their talons? 🌙 2️⃣They have specialized beaks that allow them to tear prey into bite-sized pieces for easy consumption. 3️⃣ Owls have incredibly sharp talons that can pierce through the skulls of their prey with precision, making them efficient hunters in the night. #NightHunters #WildlifeFacts #OwlFacts #PredatorPower #TalonTactics #BirdsOfPrey #avitrol #birdcontrol #pestcontrol #wildlife #birds
