  • Hunter Class Frigate Program

    -

As part of the Hunter Class Frigate Program, I was involved with the System Requirements Review and the System Development Review design phases of a new frigate for the Australian Navy.

The Hunter Class Frigates were in the early stages of the design lifecycle, and so the purpose of this program was to to ensure the design of the frigate, which were based on a reference ship design from the UK, were technically sound.

Life-of-Type Extension activities involved Preventive and Risk-Based Maintenance of a docked submarine within an industrial shipyard.

  • Recreating the Earth's Atmosphere and Climate within a Martian Dome System (Final Year Project)

    -

    • Developed a theoretical thermodynamic system that can recreate the atmosphere and climate of Earth within a Martian Dome system.
    • Proposed a literary review on certain technologies analysing the suitability of the technology or process to the system.
    • Critically analyzed each system and process from an engineering standpoint to determine suitable parameters for system operation, then presented recommendations for operation.

    Final project grade: 77/100.

  • Aerofoil Wing Fluids Project

    -

    • Proposed a method of investigating the effects of wind velocity and angle of attack of an aerofoil wing on the pressure drag of a model car
    • Utilized the software package LABView to investigate the pressure difference at different points of the model car
    • Analyzed data obtained to find pressure drag and drag coefficient of the car using the software package ANSYS

  • Frame Analysis Project

    -

    • Analyzed the different loads on different components of an engineering structure when under a certain point load on a component using the software package ANSYS
    • Determined the point of failure and maximum stress in an engineering structure using the software package ANSYS.

  • Chassis Design Project

    -

    • Designed a chassis for a car using the software packages SolidWorks and ANSYS that is designed to withstand certain bending and torsional loads as well as optimizing the design for a lighter weight
    • Followed a structured set of specifications when designing the chassis to ensure the final design is both lightweight and compliant to standards
