Education c̶̶̶a̶̶̶n̶̶̶ should be fun. And we try keep it that way... 150 students, 8+ teachers/board leaders, one awesome team, and a great partnership with RBC. Our team at LearnIt had the pleasure of hosting an incredible event in partnership with RBC, welcoming 150 students from four schools across the Peel District School Board and Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. Here's a recap of the day: 🎤 Keynote Inspiration The day kicked off with an inspiring talk from Nabeel Khan, Regional Vice President at RBC. Nabeel shared his journey and valuable advice for life beyond high school, leaving students motivated and excited for their future. 💡 Hands-On Workshops Next, students dove into a hands-on workshop where they learned the key principles of customer service through: -> Improv Games to build communication skills. -> Broken Telephone for active listening. -> Redesigning an RBC Branch to spark creative problem-solving 🏢 RBC Headquarters Tour After a delicious lunch, students explored the RBC Headquarters, including a behind-the-scenes look at the vault and the operations that keep the bank running smoothly. This wasn’t just an event; it was an experience. Our team at LearnIt spends months planning these events and seeing them come to life gives us so much happiness. We strongly feel that education is an experience - and it should be a fun one. One where students are building their social skills, meeting new people and learning in new environments. Thank you to the incredible team at RBC for making this possible, to the teachers and board leaders for supporting this initiative, and of course, to the amazing students who brought their energy and enthusiasm. Shorouq Alkayyali, BCO, Nabeel Khan, MBA, Halyna Zhukovska, Stephanie Luchesa, Yolanda Navas, OCT, Kyle Ali, Raman Lotey, Emily Baggetta, Samora Gayle, Lucio Marcantonio, Michelle Maramieri, Nelson Damaso We can’t wait to do this again! 🟠 #LearnItExperience #EducationForLife #FutureLeaders #LearnItxRBC #EmpoweringStudents

WEEKEND PODCAST DROP: I had such a great conversation with Dhiraj Hariramani for the latest episode of the LearnIt Podcast - we talked about everything from how my childhood experiences helped to shape my pathway and approach to education, the pivotal and adventurous moments that have helped shape my leadership philosophy, and how at Waterloo Region District School Board, we are balancing the innovative power of relationships, connection, technology and creativity to support student well-being and create more opportunities for student achievement and success. Most importantly, we talked about one of the biggest shifts I've made in many years, in recognizing and honouring the role that personal healing/transformation work must play as we try to drive larger systemic and social change work.
