Had a chance to attend Schulich School of Business - York University's Alumni Forum this past weekend. It was great speaking with current and past organizations I've worked with along with so many organizations that partner or want to partner with a platform like #salesforce. As expected A LOT of hype/interest in AI, some key takeaways are to start small/go after low effort/high value business areas such as the Contact/Call Center where you can focus on case deflection which leads to a win/win because your customers are serviced faster/better without having to speak to a live agent. Many more examples like this but important for Businesses especially B2B to have data grounded into sources like their CRM to avoid hallucinations. I also attended a Healthcare specific session, the market (patients) want PHI portability/interoperability and we'll see providers that can create a "Single Source of Truth" where governments fail due to regulatory frameworks, patients will choose to standardize with specific Health Teams, Hospitals, Home Health Providers that can provide a portable/accessible health record.

🌟 Insights from Deloitte Canada's Personal Branding Session 🌟 Today, I attended an inspiring Personal Branding Session by Rachelle De Muy from Deloitte Canada Campus Recruitment. Here are my key takeaways: 1. The Power of Personal Branding: Consider your person brand as a reflection of your purpose and values. Personal branding helps us align with the right companies. Rachelle used her story to show how a strong personal brand builds recognition and trust and brings opportunities. 🤝 2. Consistency is Key: Maintain a consistent brand across social media, resumes, and cover letters. Over time, this consistency can lead to significant growth. 📈 3. How to build your personal brand: Before starting, understand who you are, what do you want to be known for, and what impact do you want to have. Next, optimize your professional profile by sharing your own story and insights. Finally, set detailed goals to help you stay focused and consistent. 🎯 As someone who rarely makes public posts, today's session made me realize how speaking on social media can be beneficial for both myself and those who read my posts. Critical to boosting Canada’s AI adoption will be improving education, transparency, trust and collaboration across sectors.  And, according to a recent AI Summit held at Microsoft Canada’s Toronto headquarters, it’s up to Canadian businesses and the government to lead the charge.  To stay competitive and facilitate a rich and varied business landscape, Canada can’t afford to stay on the back foot with AI.   Throughout the first quarter of 2024, just 24.1% of Canadian businesses were using generative AI, and only 7.1% were planning on using it soon.  Technology’s potential for improving efficiency and unlocking innovation marks an incredible opportunity for Canada’s future. It’s now up to us to seize it.   According to Anita Anand, President of the Treasury Board, a first port of call is building up public trust and national innovation:  “By showing how AI can be used responsibly within our operations [...], we’re setting an example and building trust with citizens. It’s also essential for us to share success stories from individuals and organizations across Canada. First competition as a UBC Sauder School of Business MBA student, and my team secured 2nd place at the Rogers Communications x UBC Hackathon! 🎉 The task was to create an innovative product using the Rogers Network API and to demonstrate the transformative potential of 5G technology in a tangible, business-ready way. Over the course of these 72 hours, we not only had to build the product, but also develop a comprehensive business plan that covered key areas such as product-market fit, market analysis, a go-to-market strategy, and financial projections. Balancing the technical aspects of integrating the API with creating a convincing business case was no small feat. The experience stretched our creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the limit. We came together as a cross-department team and leveraged each other’s strengths. We were fortunate to receive invaluable feedback from the judges, which will help us refine our approach moving forward. Huge thanks to Omar Flores Carrillo, Robin Kaushik, Aastha Mehta, and Michael Paterson. I also want to extend my gratitude to the Rogers Team—Raymond Chau, Prasham Jain and Ivelina Daiss —for organizing such a seamless and well-executed event. Their support throughout the process made a world of difference. Special thanks to Ivelina Daiss for taking the time to give elaborate feedback on our plan after the event and also highlighting a few potential use cases. Lastly, a special shoutout to Professor Justin Bull for encouraging us to participate. This is not just about working less, but about working smarter and preparing workforces for transformative change.
