Rio Tinto has released their Everyday Respect Progress Review. The original Everyday Respect Report came out in 2022 and highlighted a culture that was harmful, lacked inclusion and demanded a shift. I haven't fully processed the Progress report in it's entirety however a couple of things have jumped out... 1) There appears to be a divide occurring between males and females because of the amount of work and support offered to the female workers. Inclusion does not divide people. It brings them together. It leaves me curious about how employee support is being handled and communicated. 2) The vulnerability is evident and arguably continues to be a role model for others. We can't fix what we don't talk about. Seeing that employees joined the organization not because they were perfect but because they owned the faults and committed to fixing them speaks to the future of work and employee values. It's a lesson we should all be paying attention to! The data goes deeper than the "norm". It's not 'light" reading and there feels like there is no effort to make it easy or light. I will come back with more detailed take aways once I have digested however in the meantime take a look for yourselves! Let's talk about it and how we can learn to do better in our own. You can find the original 2022 Report and the Progress here. https://lnkd.in/ggEsSV9E
