Founded in 2010, we are inspired by the culture of cities and each Milieu project is conceived to make a positive contribution to its setting. Through our diverse activities, we seek out opportunities to foster connection, explore innovation, cultivate the everyday culture of design, and enable a well-lived life. Based in Melbourne, Australia, the Milieu Group includes, Milieu Property, Milieu Built, Milieu Hospitality and Milieu Stays. For Milieu, development is a creative act. Part problem-solving, part curatorial process, we focus on weaving together the physical and intangible fabric that brings cities to life. Fitzroy Gasworks (2024) Milieu is thrilled to announce that along with our consortium partners we are set to embark on the transformation of the iconic Fitzroy Gasworks site. Fitzroy Gasworks will be developed by a local consortium responsible for some of the best projects in Melbourne’s inner-north. Comprising Milieu, Assemble and Hickory the consortium will work in partnership with Nightingale Housing alongside social and specialist disability accommodation housing providers. In collaboration with Development Victoria, we will work to ensure this project makes a positive and lasting contribution to the area. Having completed many projects in and around Fitzroy, the consortium has an abiding sense of connection to this suburb and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
