As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for Assemble—a year of progressing housing solutions and partnerships that deliver meaningful housing impact across Australia. Our Managing Director Kris Daff and CEO Carolyn Viney reflected on the year that was and what 2025 holds for our team: “Now as one team, we are working to redefine what sustainable, well-designed, community-centred housing looks like for our investors and for our residents – and whilst there is still much more to do, we are proud of what we have achieved in 2024 and optimistic about a future which will realise a better, fairer housing system.” From project milestones and new partnerships to broadening our impact with a growing team and housing portfolio, we would like to thank our shareholders and capital partners in AustralianSuper and HESTA, all our project partners and our residents – thank you to all for your support throughout the year. Our team will be taking a well-deserved break over this holiday period to rest up for the year ahead. We look forward to seeing you all in 2025 where we’ll be gearing up for another successful year as a team. #Assemble #housingforall #endofyearreview #2024

On a mission to make thoughtfully designed, sustainable homes more accessible to more people.
About us
At Assemble, we believe every Australian deserves access to an affordable, well-designed home, and everyone deserves a community to come home to. We’ve made it our mission to challenge our country’s housing crisis—to come up with new ideas on how we can create a better, fairer system. We began with Assemble Futures (also known as the Assemble Model)—an alternate pathway to home ownership enabling residents to rent securely for five years, with the option to buy their home at the end of the lease period. Today, we’re also building secure rental communities—apartments for renters, where residents can stay for a while, or long as they like, in quality homes located in suburbs where this type of housing is needed most. Our combined experience spans property, construction, finance, investment, architecture, urban design, asset operations, community engagement, marketing communications and advocacy. Each day we challenge and inspire our team to interrogate assumptions, and the diversity of skills and experience across our growing team of 45 represents our commitment to doing things differently and more responsibly in the housing development space. Our values and ideas find a voice in Assemble Papers, a biannual free online and printed magazine putting people front and centre in conversations around design, housing, and social infrastructure and impact.

Last week we were recognised with two awards at this year’s UDIA Victoria Awards for Excellence (Victoria): 15 Thompson Street won the Apartments (Mid-Rise) category and our 'Imagine Less. Experience More.' campaign and digital experience took home the Marketing Award. These awards celebrate high-quality projects and development innovation across Victoria, and we were pleased to see our built and digital projects honoured by industry peers. Bringing these projects to life took the collective efforts of our dedicated teams and our partners who we work alongside across our housing projects. Completed and being enjoyed by resident since mid-2024, 15 Thompson Street was made possible with the support of our capital partner, AustralianSuper , along with the strategic contributions from various project partners and consultants, including architects Hayball and construction partners Hacer Group. For the continued success that our campaign and digital experience has recently received, thank you again to our design partners Today for their creativity and collaboration in bringing this project into the world. Thank you to the judges and the sponsors for the recognition, it was inspiring to celebrate teams and projects that are contributing positively to better housing outcomes in Victoria. https://bit.ly/3BiyMQX #assemble #housingforall #purchasepathway #imagineless #experiencemore #melbournehomes #housing #innovation #development #australianhousing #udiavictoria

We are thrilled to share that our ‘Imagine Less. Experience More’ campaign was named Integrated Brand Campaign of the Year at the 2024 REA Excellence Awards, hosted by REA Group. At Assemble, our purchase pathway reimagines the homeownership journey to meet people where they are — focusing on transparency, choice, and long-term stability every step of the way. Our ‘Imagine Less. Experience More’ campaign elevated the unique benefits that our purchase pathway provides, showcasing how a reimagined approach can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This national award is a testament to the creativity and dedication of our team and our design partners at Today, who collaboratively shaped this campaign approach and our reimagined website. A huge thank you to the judges for this recognition and congratulations to all of this year’s nominees. #assemble #housingforall #purchasepathway #imagineless #experiencemore #melbournehomes #housing #innovation #development #australianhousing

Every sponsorship goes a long way to keep participation affordable and accessible for every local sports lover. As KFJSC President Matt Love said, “Local sponsors like Assemble are imperative to the survival of the club and gives us the opportunity to purchase new sports equipment, offer scholarships to families who may not be able to afford fees, and keep fees low for our current members.” Whether it's through direct sponsorship or hosting their annual sponsorship fundraiser at out cafe Cassette, we’re proud to get behind a club that goes those extra few yards for its own community. Our project at 4 Ballarat Street in Brunswick reached a significant milestone, with the building officially ‘topped out’ in July 2024 and the external structure now complete. Our second purchase pathway project in partnership with AustralianSuper, this 171-apartment project on the doorstep of Brunswick’s Sydney Road is now on the final stretch of its construction journey. Joined by our investor partners AustralianSuper alongside project partners ANZ, builder Hacer Group and architects Fieldwork, we marked the occasion with a topping-out ceremony on the rooftop, a long-celebrated tradition in the construction industry. Speaking from the rooftop celebrations, Senior Development Manager Stephen Dodd reflected, “it’s fantastic to celebrate with everyone who’s had a hand in getting the project to this point – and with a view of the city that our residents will be lucky to call their own very soon.” Read on for more about this project milestone with the latest news on our website. https://bit.ly/3zIQMDm #assemble #ExperienceMore #housingforall #4BallaratStreet #purchasepathway #melbournehomes #northmelbourne #innermelbourne #brunswickmelbourne
