Every woman deserves to feel safe at work — whether it’s in the office, on the night shift, or anywhere in between. Together, let's make this a reality. Because women cannot truly be safe everywhere, always, until they are safe at work. #16DaysofActivism #SafetyStarts #SafeEverywhereAlways

Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism. Safety isn’t just an idea—it’s a shared responsibility. When safety starts in one sphere, it creates a ripple effect, often influencing safety in others. Every woman deserves to feel safe in her own home. But for too many, home can be a place of harm. This 16 Days, let’s commit to ensuring that safety starts in the home, because women cannot be truly safe everywhere, always, until they are safe where they live. #16DaysofActivism #SafetyStarts #SafeEverywhereAlways

When a child is subjected to domestic, family, or sexual violence, the question isn't if it impacts them — it's how. This World Children's Day, ANROWS proudly launches, In Their Own Right: Actions to Improve Children and Young People’s Safety from Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence. The landmark synthesis draws together 20 research reports and over 130 policy recommendations offering a roadmap to policymakers, practice leaders, and advocates for addressing the unique needs of children and young people as victims and survivors of violence. Authored by ANROWS senior project officers, Sophie Gillfeather-Spetere and Amy Watson, this report is a call to action to centre the voices and experiences of children and young people in our responses to violence. 🔗Read the synthesis: https://lnkd.in/gDjrYG-v 🎨 Artwork by: Amani Haydar

The latest National Community Attitudes Survey (NCAS) findings are here. For Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander respondents these numbers tell a story of trust that's been deeply fractured. Thank you, National Indigenous Times, for bringing attention to this critical conversation. 💡 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ghMJ5epZ 📑Read the fact sheet: https://lnkd.in/gES5KrSQ 📚Download the NCAS report: https://lnkd.in/gSteq-TW

The findings we’re sharing today show that change is urgently needed—not just in our laws, but in the systems and attitudes that deeply affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women every day. These numbers tell a story of broken trust. If we’re committed to a safer Australia for all women, we must listen, act and confront the systemic barriers holding us back. "Addressing economic insecurity is absolutely critical because it’s both a driver of and an impact from domestic violence." Our CEO, Dr Tessa Boyd-Caine, recently joined an important panel discussion alongside Christine Cupitt, Rebecca Glenn and Cath Bowtell for Women in Super's annual conference on economic insecurity. The panel explored the complex relationship between economic security and gender-based violence and how financial institutions can play a key role in ending it. Thanks very much to Women in Super for the invitation to share our insights!
